Where Did The Week Go?

it is Sunday already,

so new dress on for Diana,

 looking as beautiful as ever,

then off to The Punch & Judy, 

 for a medicinal glass of wine and catch up with the Sunday papers,

 we were both feeling a little hungry so we decided on a prawn cocktail to share as a starter, but as soon as it arrived we both tucked in, it was not until we had finished I thought of taking a picture,

 then the main course, a trio of meats for Diana, lamb for myself,

'Cheers!', 

I had ordered two of the delicious Yorkshire pies, the second one had just arrived,

 a self portrait of Diana, then home feet up and watch a few DVDs,

we started with another that we had already watched on a normal DVD, but enjoyed it so much we bought it on BluRay, From Hell, it set in 1888 in London, and the unfortunate poor lead horrifying lives in the city's deadliest slum, Whitechapel, which becomes the stomping ground for one of London's most notorious killers,

next a documentary, The Ant that Ate America, spreading like a plague the imported red fire ant is slowly spreading across America, one of the many things that surprised me in this program is that more people are killed in its range by being stung by the ants in 1 year that are killed in 10 years of snake bites in the same area,

this film I watched part off many years ago then forgot the name of it, till a few months ago when something just clicked and I remembered it, Fargo, although the titles say it is based on a true movie it is not, but two similar events depicted in the movie did take place, an urban legend even says that people have gone to search Minnesota for the briefcase of money, but what did happen was that the plot has elements of two well-known Minnesota crimes, in 1962, a St. Paul attorney named Eugene Thompson hired someone to kill his wife, Carol, the sloppiness and brutality of the crime attracted great attention, then in 1972, Virginia Piper, the wife of a wealthy Orono banker, was kidnapped, a million-dollar ransom was paid, one of the largest in U.S. history, Mrs. Piper was found tied to a tree in a state park, two men were convicted of the crime, but were acquitted after a re-trial, only $4,000 of the money was ever recovered, so that, supposedly is why people are still looking for the other $999,996!

a scary dairy one next for Diana, horror is not my favorite genre, but Diana loves horror movies, so it was 13 Ghosts, Arthur and his two children, Kathy and Bobby, inherit his Uncle Cyrus's estate, complete with money and antiques, with 12 ghosts, but where is the 13th?

by now it was getting late so one for the road, X-Men, look out the mutants are coming! the film I am sure most have seen, but it has to be said the special effects were great, then for us off to bed.
