not if you tread on one of these, more than 1,000 UK holidaymakers have been stung by the country’s most poisonous fish, the weever, alarm bells are ringing as government scientists at the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) have found that numbers of the venomous fish are on the increase around the coast, the strange thing is that as far back as I can remember the South coast has always been awash with them, back in the mid 1950's at Brighton and Black Rock (I used to love riding on the Volk's railway), there were so many of them that we kids were told not to go in the sea, naturally we all did and got stung! I just wonder why the surprise, I mean it is not as if it is a new phenomenon.
