typically a few pennies for a charge that will take you 100 miles or so,
but it appears that is not the case, apart from the fact that in France there are already worries that when the new cheaper long-awaited electric car Zoe produced by Renault hits the scene the power grid may fail, it also appears that the quick charge units that mean you can charge your eco friendly Zoe in a half an hour or so could be financially crippling on a daily bases, the quick chargers mentioned draw more energy than a dozen electric hot-water heaters!
the good news in the UK of course is that this will not be an option if the wind is not blowing, as we will not have an alternative power source,
there is a way around this recharging problem however, the use of off-peak charging via 'smart grids' able to communicate with chargers that can then be operated remotely, Renault has made a decision not to provide chargers compatible with home sockets, thereby requiring Zoe owners to buy 'Wall-Box' chargers, this could soften the impact, just make sure any friends you visit have bought a 'Wall Box' when you stay for a visit with them, electric cars, a waste of space and resources, pretty much the same as wind farms.
