so imagine airliners with thinner, lighter walls
that were made of OLED screens instead of the normal fuselage, for
every 1% reduction in weight, the approximate fuel saving is 0.75%, if you save
weight, you save fuel and less fuel means less CO2 emissions into the
atmosphere and lower operational cost and you get a great view of the outside
world, everyone wins, well that is the idea of the UK's CPI,
by using OLED screens instead of windows arrayed in panels along the cabin walls and ceiling, the
screens could show the outside world (as captured by wide-angle panoramic
cameras on the outside of the plane) at a resolution of 150 dpi,
I wonder how my fear of heights would cope with this if it ever came to fruition?
