as we were going fishing,
but the Sumkivitt Road,
was almost at a standstill,
as just off of it going towards Pattaya Tai there was a fire,
it looked like it was on a building site, hopefully no one was injured,

we picked up Nick and Maureen and made our way to the fishing park,
we were not there long,
before I had the first fish of the day, so off to the kitchen he went,
next Nick evened the score,
the score 1-1,
today it was a bit overcast,
with dark skies and the rubble of thunder in the distance,
things were a bit quiet on the fishing front so I played with the camera and took this panorama of the lake,
next one to me,
another keeper,
breakfast arrived, the first catch of the day, we had already snacked on some cake that Nick had baked the day before, but the fish filled us up completely,
another for Nick,
followed by one for me,
more dark clouds rolled in,
the lakes cats,
must have smelt our fish breakfast,
as they came looking for food,
aw please,
the sad fact was that by the time the cats arrived the plate of bones had already been taken back to the kitchen,
it then started to rain,
the heavens opened up but our fishing shelter kept us dry, the final score 5-4 to myself,
if you want to fish here it is the Mamak fishing park, their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is on the right hand side, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!
we then went to Nick and Maureen's,
for a roast pork meal,
delicious,
so it was eyes down and tuck in, we followed the meal with cheese and biscuits, ice cream and coffee, then a treat we had not tried before, peppered chocolate, it was different but nice, Diana loved it!
on to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly!
which I won, we thanked Nick and Maureen for their kind hospitality and made a move for home, then feet up for a couple from Colombo and we were off to bed.
