as we stayed overnight at Nick and Maureen's,
and have just arrived home, I made a mistake in yesterdays post, it is Nick and Maureen's 38th. wedding anniversary not 35th. as I posted yesterday, they had invited us to a celebration meal that Nick was cooking,
Diana to a few pictures of Nick preparing the beef Wellington that was going to be our main course,
pate spread over the pastry then the beef rolled in the middle,
for the first course Nick had prepared potted shrimps which is a traditional Lancashire dish, served with whole grain bread,
by now the beef was cooked to perfection,
cut and served,
with vegetables and gravy,
'Cheers!',
then the dessert, a sherry trifle,
the trifle as all of the other dishes absolutely delicious,
then a real surprise and special treat, an Irish coffee,
Diana does not normally drink alcohol, but she did this time,
it looked and tasted so nice,
and it must have done Diana some good as she won the first game of the day,
then later in the evening Maureen made a few sandwiches and naturally a extra helping of sherry trifle,
it was then Nick's turn to win the second game of Monopoly, we chatted the evening away, then time to retire so we were off to bed.
for a bit of fun Diana made this video of the meal.
