First Thing,

and first stop,

Beckenham Beacon, which in my day was Beckenham Country Hospital, for my eye test, once on the NHS, (National Health Service), hardly a month goes past without the service writing to you to make an appointment for a check up, the same for Diana, but then we had to pay £800 into the NHS for Diana's first of 5 years contributing to the system, and of course now she has a job she pays into the system the same as any other UK worker, but back to my eye test, on primary inspection of the results all seems to be fine, but a more detailed examination will take place shortly, I will then be informed of the results and any further action needed over the next few weeks will be taken,

 next stop,the shop,

a quick look at the marine invertebrate aquarium,

and then to the dry goods section, I had noticed some Aiptasia anemones, they are the equivalent in gardening as a most aggressive and invasive weed, so a cure was needed,

and this was it, Arciadia Zap-Tasia, the war had begun!

next stop home to pick up Diana, and we were away,

on the number 54 bus to Blackheath village, passing the cat at Catford,

after arriving in the village a quick look at the local florists,

who always seem to have a nice display,

up the hill past this shop that prefers a artificial display, it still looks nice though,

we started walking towards the church,

time for a quick pose, Diana then decided to make the start of a video of our day out, I have posted it at the end of our day out, and nice it looked too, but it had a dire result,

the ice cream van that we were making for, by the time Diana had finished the video had moved, you should hear Diana in the video!

but all was not lost,

at the entrance to the park,

 another van,

 decorated with Mickey and Minnie,

 into the park we went,

 past the gate house,

 with it's colorful hanging baskets,

in the distance the end of the road,

and this one not a road for traffic, but a wide boulevard for pedestrians,

 walking to the observatory,

a fashion shoot was going on,

 the ladies having great fun,

we neared the bandstand, when Diana has a Sunday off and the band is playing we will be here!

 in the distance a runner,

he must be a special runner,

he has his own motorised transport with a rain cover, and film crew filming him,

and here he is, any idea of who he is?

the cart was really well prepared,

and he had a huge support crew,

as well as all of this a complete ambulance for medical emergencies,

 the O2 in the distance,

looking down to the National Maritime Museum,

 Canary Wharf in the distance,

we started our walk down into the village,

 the O2 much closer now,

but first a time check at the observatory,

 and down we walked,

a party of visitors enjoying the view, and their lunch,

this is so steep, not to be recommended in frosty weather!

at the bottom of the hill a walk,

that will take you past most probably the biggest ship in a bottle in the world,

at the corner of the road at the square, a shop called Nauticalia,

selling all  manner of nautical items,

 the square itself,

 was having a major facelift,

which went to the end of the square, the church was also having some work done to it,

Diana just had to have a look in a clothes shop,

I popped into the covered market,

the pub on the left featured in Now You See Me 2,

not many tourists or customers today,

some of the regular stalls here,

and a new one selling it looks like ex WD bags, which were so common when I was at school, so many kids had redundant gas mask bags that doubled as a school schachtel,

 I looked at the stalls,

and made my way to the food section,

and noticed this old repurposed Citroen van,

 in cream selling food,

next to this red one, and who was that buying food?

 you guessed it!

no scones, fresh cream and jam then!

a last look at the market,

and we were off to the Cutty Sark, not to visit, but to look up the price of river cruises,

 passing the Gipsy Moth,

some refurbishment was going on for the summer season,

we passed the bow of the ship,

as we made our way to the ticket office,

for the price of river trips,

we did not want to use one today, as it was overcast and occasionally raining,

but here are the prices for our next trip to the river,

we made our way back to the square for the bus journey home,

and here it is, Diana's video of our day out, apparently I am a blogger, Diana is a vlogger, I write, Diana videos,

at home we settled down for our evening meal,

 lamb kebabs for starters,

and for lour main course Aberdeen angus steaks, with all of the trimmings,

 'Cheers!',

apparently I needed feeding up as I had 2 wraps of asparagus,

to accompany the meal a Castell de Veza 2006, and very nice it was too,

we rounded of the meal with strawberries, cream and meringue, after listening to music for a couple of hours, we watched one from Game of Thrones and then for us we were off to bed.

I have to say that the B-logger and the V-logger make a very good team!

Cutty Sark... it means "short nightie" in Scottish, apparently. I always thought it was "Cutty Shark" (the whisky), and never noticed that I was reading it wrong all these years.
