Having Had A Maintenance Day,

last week,

on our marine aquarium I was out of RO water to top up the water that evaporates, so off to the shop to pick some up, Diana was already on her way to work, above the marine invertebrate aquarium in the shop with its powerful UV lights for the corals,

I had a quick look at the plants for sale,

 both natural,

 and artificial,

some you can buy almost like carpet,

 others individually,

 like this one,

back in the 1950s it was de rigueur have an archway through which goldfish could swim in an aquarium or goldfish bowl,

now it is a war damaged 24" battleship!

after my evening meal I went to the 'man attic', and started playing with a few infrared photographs, one of Urquhart Castle in the far distance, the red photograph as it comes out of the camera in a format known as RW2,

the same image after running it through a colour swapping application,

I then played with the image in Viveza, in the NIK Collection, and above is the result,

 the same sequence,

for the Ferris wheel in Paris,

it looked fine on the upstairs monitor, but looking on the laptop it could have done with a bit more blue in the sky,

 next to Kew Gardens,

the same procedure, the great news about infrared photography and shooting in RAW is the amount of detail it captures that you can then play with, as in the photograph above, looking at the waterfall and a dark featureless stream,

but a few tweaks and look at the detail that was just waiting to be seen, if you like infrared photography we do have blog dedicated to just our infrared hobby, you can see it here, I have not updated it for quite some time but will do soon, to see earlier post on it, hit the three line button by the word in the title, Stanley, and you can see all of the earlier post, in some of which I go into detail about how exactly I process our IR images, anyway, after these few I came back downstairs to wait for Diana to call from the bus, when she did I was off to the stop, arriving home now it was nearly midnight, so a coffee, just a half an hour of Geostorm and that was it, we are only making one post today as we have a few things to do and a train to catch, with that we were off to bed.
