Avocados,

that literally look too good to eat,

Daniele Barresi is a young food sculptor who specializes in turning advarcardos into works of art, all photographs by Daniele Barresi,

a native of Bagnara Calabra, Italy, Daniele Barresi has been carving ever since he was just seven years old,

He has also experimented with a wide range of mediums over the years, from soap to resin and foam, but it is his intricate avocado carvings that always get the most attention,

“When I touch my knife, my mind gives up to the heart and it transmits directly, to the hands, giving different forms to the decorations. It’s like magic,” Daniele Barresi wrote on Bored Panda, two years ago,

but here is the theng, avocados, like apples, tend to turn brown pretty fast in contact with air, so the 28-year-old food artist has to work fast to create his designs before the fresh pulp becomes oxidized,

the Italian expat currently living in Australia is a 2 times world champion carving designer, having won the WACS championship in both 2013  and 2014,

He was also crowned National Champion in Italy, in 2015, and Carving European Champion that same year, advarcardos, now where did I put the prawns?
