Diana Was At Work,

for myself I had a quiet day,

I should say I am only making one post today, as first thing I am out to visit the doctor, a couple of weeks ago I gave some blood samples to be examined and today is that day I call in for the results, many thanks to the NHS! when Diana returned home we watched a couple of quiz shows and a BattleBots, then a real treat, a blast from the past, Blazing Saddles, I wrote the last time we watched it : 'more fun to watch if you are with a lot of friends, but it still brought a smile or two watching it again, it seems strange to think that when I first watched it in a cinema I was 25 or so years old, crikey 48 years ago! and there are still so many moments in the film for myself, leaving the camp fire meal alone, that made us chuckle, such as when towards the end of the film Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), opens a bathroom door, and looks around at total chaos, and then mouths the silent words, "What the *%$^!", priceless'

I should also mention it was a treat to see Slim Pickens, above in Stanley Kubrick's 1964 film, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, this picture and many more on-set photos and a documentary on the making of Dr. Strangelove can be seen here, who in real life was bareback bronc rider; saddle bronc rider; rodeo clown and bullfighter, that was not of course his real name but as a piece of trivia before becoming an actor, Slim was riding on the rodeo circuit, someone told him that he should take up another line of work because all he would ever get in the rodeo was "Slim Picken's," his real name was Louis Bert Lindley Jr. after the film as Diana had a early start tomorrow she was off to bed, for myself a Have I Got more News For You, before I too was off to bed.
