4 Reasons Not To Fly Tiger Airways,

as many of our friends know we have invited Diana's family over from the Philippines,

they should have arrived yesterday, but they like all of the other travellers that arrived at the airport were told, 'sorry the plane left yesterday', one would assume empty, so hopefully they will be here mid next week for their holiday, I know we should have chosen a well known airline, but when buying 4 return tickets price is a consideration, so on to today, the skies were to say the least overcast, with distant thunder, outside at midday it looked grey,

 then the rain started,

with the disappointment of the family not arriving and the increasing rain we decided to stay in, so feet up for a few DVDs,

first M.A.S.H. which I am sure we all know stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, this was the original film that a television series was made from, set in the Korean War it follows the careers of two surgeons up until the time they are discharged, a fun movie set against a sad backdrop,

set in another war The Caine Mutiny story takes place on the U.S.S. Caine when a Ship's Captain played by Humphrey Bogart is removed from his command by his Executive Officer in an apparent outright act of mutiny, but was it?

after watching Humphrey Bogart we decided on another one of his movies, Casablanca, although in black & white Diana did enjoy the movie, Rick Blaine, exiled American and former freedom fighter, runs the most popular nightspot in town, the town is where people from war torn Europe hope to find passage to ultimately America, sometimes Rick can help them, a classic,

after watching New Tricks, a series about solving cases of murder where the case has gone cold, I read about a show called Waking the Dead, which seemed to have a similar storyline, a team solving cases that have been left as unsolvable, I have to say the first was all that we had hoped it would be, there were only two credibility gaps, firstly a DNA sample was needed from the victim, but for various reasons it could not be extracted, in that case I had always thought that a near relative, father/mother/sister/brother would though not being definitive would be a step forward, but it appears not, also I thought when a mobile phone was used its location could be at least narrowed down, when the killer used a still living victims mobile phone this was not the case, but those two gripes apart it looked good so we will be watching the next in series soon, by the way if you looked at the flying penguins post and the video that accompanied it, you did notice that the post was dated 1st April? you know April Fools Day! with that we were off to bed.

Hi Stan,

Sorry to hear Diana's family is delayed. Do Filipinos/Filipinas need a visa to come to Thailand?

Dear Seth,
thank you for your concern, in theory people from the Philippines do not need a visa to visit Thailand, but this year things have changed, a friend of ours wanted to bring a Filipino to Thailand for a holiday, twice they were reused permission to board the plane, (losing the ticket both times), despite the fact that they had written a letter of innovation and stated they would be responsible for all expenses incurred, what we had to do was go to the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok and sign in the embassy that we would be responsible for Diana's family, the letter was then sent to the Philippines so they will show it when they check in, if you have a look at this post here,

you will see a picture of the affidavit, the cost is 1,250 baht per affidavit, issued in a couple of hours on the same day, so hopefully if there are no other problems they should be here this week, best regards, Stan and Diana.
