Although We Did Not Go Out Today,

it was a busy one,

first thing Mr, Tony called round for a chat, just as he left Mark called round for a few soft drinks, then as he just left Mr. Tony called back in from the Wattana Computers, he was checking that a anti virus application had been loaded on to his new computer, the day just sailed past, after our evening meal we decided to watch The Crimson Petal and the White, as the blurb says, 'spectacular sets and fantastic costumes provide an incredible backdrop which immerses the viewer in a highly realistic portrayal of Victorian London, a compelling Victorian tale of revenge', the DVD tells the story of Sugar, an alluring and intelligent young prostitute in an engrossing drama with a twist, the title? I think it is taken from a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson, Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal,
Now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white;
Nor waves the cypress in the palace walk;
Nor winks the gold fin in the porphyry font;
The firefly wakens, waken thou with me.

Now droops the milk-white peacock like a ghost,
And like a ghost she glimmers on to me.

Now lies the Earth all Danae to the stars,
And all thy heart lies open unto me.

Now slides the silent meteor on, and leaves
A shining furrow, as thy thoughts, in me.

Now folds the lily all her sweetness up,
And slips into the bosom of the lake.
So fold thyself, my dearest, thou, and slip
Into my bosom and be lost in me.

moving on, we watched the first, then the second, then the third episode of Downton Abbey, we had decided to watch the first but the story was so good we watched three, till nearly 3 in the morning! the story starts out with the death of Lord Crawley's heirs aboard the Titanic which means distant cousin Matthew Crawley will inherit the estate and the family fortune, all told between the Lords and Ladies and the downstairs staff, gripping story line and a treat to watch, filmed in and around Highclere Castle it was a joy to watch, with that we were off to bed.
