The Ex-GTC Gulf Team Davidoff McLaren F1 GTR FIA GT Endurance Racing Coupe,

is I guess a car that could be called a super car,

the super fast 1997 McLaren F1 GTR is a race car based on the iconic 240mph F1 model, the fastest production car to ever come out of England, with a a staggering 600bhp 6-litre V12 engine while weighing less than 1,000kg, the performance is quick to say the least, 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 240mph, just 28 GTRs were built by the Woking-based firm when this, the last one rolled of the production line, but performance and rarity like this does come at a price, it is being sold at the 2012 Bonhams Auction of Exceptional Motorcars, which will take place on August 16th and 17th at Quail Lodge in Carmel, Bonhams has described the McLaren as 'the 20th Century’s ultimate motoring icon' and is expecting it to fetch in excess of £3.15 million, if the price was not bad enough news there is worse to come, it is illegal to use on public roads, well it is a full blown race car not a watered down road version,

all of that money and you can not even cruise around in it! well for me the choice is obvious, buy a Bugatti Veyron, for £1,067,500 ($1,700,00) and keep the change! after all there are a number of advantages going for the Veyron, it is quicker 0 - 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, faster with a top speed of 250 m.p.h.+ (limited to avoid tyre damage, I kid you not!), you can use it on the road, it has a couple of seats and room to do a bit shopping, in actual fact you could buy two of them for the price of the F1 and still have change!
