Our First Breakfast,

in our new home,

it will be some time before we have proper tables and chairs, so a pot of tea for one,

and a breakfast favorite of mine, smoked haddock warmed in milk, we have lots of things to do, as mentioned order tables, chairs, bed, sofa, television cabinet, all relatively high priced items, and all items we want to see before we buy, but we had to wait in today for BT to drop off our broadband and television box, we were told to expect delivery between 09.00 in the morning and 14.00 in the afternoon, which was great as that left most of the afternoon free for us to pop into Croydon and order a few things if we like them, 15.00, delivery 1 hour late, so we called BT, who apologized profusely sating they had confused Monday with Saturday, delivery would be between 09.00 and 18.00, as thinking it was a Saturday they do not deliver in the afternoon, 18.00 came and went, so we called BT again, it appears that their carrier could not find our building and at 16.00 gave up! so here we are in a huge Victorian building that has been here for well over 120 years, that has 8 or 9 flats in it, and with the combined technology of GPS, postcodes and Google maps we could not be found! it appears that parcel and goods delivery has retreated from the 20th. centenary back to the 19th. so if you ever think about using a cowboy company that does not understand modern technology use the shower called Parcel Force, Parcel Farce more like! the bad news is that we must wait in again tomorrow, and hope that this time the driver does not give up and actually does his/her/it's job,

so now that we know there will not be a  delivery today, we walked into town, to buy a few things,

for our first evening meal at home,

so a bottle of bubbly it was then, and it was fighting back!

 and out the cork popped,

 a bucks fizz for Diana,

 sans orange for myself,

we had brought some of the Indian home with us,

so we settled down for the evening,

 'Cheers!',

and for dessert, an Eton mess, meringue, red currents, blueberry's, raspberries strawberry's and cream, with a glass of bubbly to wash it all down, we watched television for the rest of the evening, then for us we were off to bed.

Must confess, I expected to hear news of your return several months ago Stan, but welcome back!

Dear Vic, many thanks for the welcome, we would of indeed been back earlier if the Home Office kept it's word, twice we were promised by the Home Office that a decision would be reached in 15 working days, twice they broke their word and this was plus the 12 weeks that they say is the maximum that an application should take! so yes we should have been back months ago, but there it is,looking forward to meeting up for a beer or three! best regards, Stan and Diana.
