Our First Day,

in the UK,

started out wet, cold and miserable,

but we were so happy to be here we just did not care,

as we left the park a wood pigeon gave us the once over, if only he knew many years ago whist in the UK I was probably eating one of his long distant relatives, along with woodcock and partridge in a pie at the now closed Flicks restaurant in West Wickham, he might have left a bit quicker,

this morning we were off to Catford Post office, which is just opposite Lewisham town hall, we had to pick up some paperwork at this particular post office for Diana's visa,

and I had to post my bus pass, now that I am 68 years old and a resident of the UK I can travel for free in London and the surrounding suburbs,

we needed a UK mobile telephone, so arriving back in Beckenham we walk past the church,

to Carphone Warehouse, but we were told that the package we had is no longer available, and the one they have now is expensive in so far as we do not want or need a data package as we just want the telephone to talk and text, but they did say in Croydon to go to the EE store there as they do a package that is just right for us, so another job to do in the next few days,

I called in to the shop to say hello to the boys,

Steve and Kai then very kindly picked us up and we were off to IKEA,

on a shopping and spending spree, as you can imagine, until our bits and pieces from Thailand by boat arrive some time in February we need a few things to keep us going,

we have a totally empty flat with not even a tea spoon in it, I was so relived when I found the corkscrew section,

in the evening we were invited to a birthday party, it was the birthday of Phanee, wife of Tom,

 there were so many there,

 including Jim with Phanee,

 Diana, Phanee and Kai,

 Tom lights the candles,

and Phanee gets ready to blow them out,

 one, two, three,

 and they are all out,

 then time for the bubbly,

that was putting up a bit of a fight, but Tom won so it was 'Cheers!', all round, after saying our farewells Steve kindly dropped us off home, where after a nightcap we were off to bed.
