A Quick Visit,

to the bank,

 by the war memorial,

and opposite the very art deco fronted cinema, which is in need of refurbishment as the front looks totally unkempt,

we took a shortcut past these cottages,

 beside the Coach and Horses,

and in no time were at Kelsey Park entrance,

a few more of the bedding flowers,

 coming through,

and a nice show from the magnolias,

 is on the cards,

we made our way past a couple of sleeping ducks,

 and the waterfall,

and into the no dogs section of the park,

where the birds soon came looking for some brown bread,

  and peanuts,

just one Mandarin in the lake today,

as you might expect, some of the ducks are getting used to the hand outs, not only from us, and are getting very brave walking up to Diana,

we made our way past the crocuses,

being followed by this Egyptian goose, (Alopochen aegyptiaca),

as were a number of squirrels,

like this chap nearly bumping into the lens,

 who was soon eating nearby,

across the lake the herons nesting,

 but it was this chap,

that took my attention, sitting on a post, I had not seen him before, so having the small camera in my bag I used it's longer zoom to have a closer look,

 and here he is,

I am thinking he is a visitor, but where from?

I do not think he is native to the UK,

the bird swims but is somehow very low in the water,

as I had the camera out a quick look at the herons,

Diana was still getting mobbed by the ducks,

we crossed the bridge at the far end of the lake,

looking behind us the area where we normally see a few Mandarins has now been taken over by the geese,

 Diana fed another squirrel,

who was very tame indeed, almost taking the peanut from Diana's hand,

as we passed heron island it was a change of cameras,

as the unnamed bird spread it's wings to dry them,

which reminded me of a cormorant,

but what is it? if anyone knows please send me a comment with its latin name,

 we continued our walk,

feeding the squirrels as we went,

 they look so cute,

it is just a shame that the introduction of them decimated our own red squirrel population,

but all is not lost, if this article is to be believed,

we arrived back at the park gates,

and made our way back home, after our evening meal it was feet up for a couple of quiz shows, one from Endeavour and a couple of Police Interceptors to round off the evening, and with that we were off to bed.
