The Day Started Early,

with Len starting on boxing some of the pipework in,

most of the pipework was cut off,

but the old gas pipe had to be capped, and it protruded into the room by a few inches, to save walking into it, Len made a couple of boxes that would cover the ends,

an always smiling and happy Len,

two boxes made, next the window that had seen better days, the bottom two panes of glass had slipped down into the woodwork, so they were removed and new beading put in place, but ultimately some time this year the windows will have to be replaced with double glazed PVC replacements,

 next job,

cut up the PVC water tank that is no longer in use,

remove it and some of the unused wood and other rubbish that had accumulated over the past 100 years or so downstairs, when Len left for the evening we loaded him up so he could drop it all of at the dump on his way in tomorrow morning,

then time for us to start work, Diana cleaning the walls,

whilst I stained the new boxes,

and painted the raised floor beams, over the next month or so radiators will be plumbed in,

and carpet fitted between the raised floor beams, the wine rack that Len uses as a work bench dumped, so hopefully when all is clean and tidy we can move the computer table and chair upstairs, along with suitcases and all of the other bits and pieces that we have accumulated over the years,

after our evening meal it was feet up, Steve called in to see how work was progressing, after saying our goodbyes we watched the usual few quiz and antiques shows, then two full episodes of New Tricks, one from the old series and one from the new series we had not seen before, next for us, of to bed.
