The Day Dawned Bright And Sunny,

pity it did not yesterday,

when we were out for a visit to Bayham Old Abbey, so off to the bus stop,

 passing lots of leaves,

we were off to Sainsburys in Sydenham, to start some Christmas shopping, or I should say look at things to buy for the house for Christmas,

look over and a few decisions made, and a number of items purchased, we waited for a bus to take us to Homebase in Downham, whilst waiting a young starling let Diana get close to it,

very close in fact, then all of a sudden every bird took flight, crows, starlings and seagulls, looking skyward there was not one but two hawks overhead, that were being harassed by as many as four crows, trying to drive them out of the area I guess,

we arrived at Homebase and bought a few things, bubbles for the tree, and also came to a decision about which tree to buy,

fully loaded we started our walk home, we also decided to stop at the restaurant fora coffee,

but first a quick look at the park map,

looking behind as we walked up the hill,

many of the trees now completely bare, the park still proving to be popular, cars parked on the pavements,

which meant that pedestrians had to walk in the mud, which thankfully was fairly dry,

this must be fun for the kids!

and here is the problem re the cars, a car park pitifully small, for some strange reason the council thought that the visiting public would leave their cars at home and use public transport, with a Sunday cut back service, even on a cold day October day the car park was totally full,

we walked into the restaurant courtyard, and immediately gave up the idea of a coffee, the queue outside of the restaurant had 25 - 30 people waiting in line, so home it was then,

past the green in front of the mansion,

where the car park used to be,

 and down the hill,

home for Sunday lunch, for a starter a lamb kebab with salad,

'Cheers!', with a sherry, very bad form I hear in some quarters,

for our main course roast pork, with crackling and all of the trimmings, with gravy for Diana,

for today and the next few weeks I have switched to white wine, for no other reason than I picked the wrong pile of wine in boxes, I managed to miss the pile of red and picked white, well it makes a nice change,

the same main course for myself sans that gravy, we were so full,

we decided on a strawberry, meringue and cream later in the evening, then it was feet up for,

The Resistance Banker, in Holland instead of Oscars they have the Golden Calf, the film is reported to have become the most visited film of 2018 and was nominated for eleven Golden Calves, the first time a film received so many nominations for the award. It won four Golden Calves, among them the prize for Best Film and Best Actor. The film was also selected as the Dutch entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 91st Academy Awards, for us? well to be truthful we both found it a bit heavy going, and were obviously in the minority, we followed the film with one from Not The Nine O'Clock News, a couple of quiz shows also Diana used her telephone,

to give me a spin chilling lear! and with that were then off to bed.
