other that the word 'coffee' on the sign outside it did not seem to have a name, but a few nice rustic tables and chairs inside, unfortunately the heavy rain through the night ensured they were wet through,
and Sattahip, I must remember to look out for cars when taking pictures in the road!
view across that road,
inside was very spacious and clean,
Diana looking through the library, all books about cooking, but unfortunately all in Thai, so next week to Swenson's in Lotus then upstairs to the book shop to hopefully buy a cooking book in English,
ice coffee and a prawn salad for me,
and very nice it was to,
spaghetti and meat sauce for Diana, she also had a ice Milo, total 220 baht, we were the only customers there, but I guess a lot of their business comes from selling food to go over to the beach,
we watched a bit of TV in the afternoon, then it was time to go to the night market on Thepprisit,
there was a lovely smell in the air as I went past this stall, a bit difficult to see but each packet had a few hundred tiny beads in it, add them to water or burn? but in any event they smelled nice,
then along to the food section, this is before the plant and pet area,
it does not look it but it was quite crowded,
I can not remember seeing these wooden stalls before, but then it may have been that I just did not notice them,
it is still light, but very crowded,
then to my favorite part, the plants and livestock section, a few orchids,
but unlike Soi Bukoaw there are only a few here,
but still nice to look at,
again this week we took a few photos that we took of Sai Jai last week and gave them to her, all of the bits and pieces you can see she makes in the week and sells on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
we meet Mick and Mass along with Jay and Precil, the girls were then off on a shopping fest!
then back to 388 for some food and a chat, strangely enough we some how started talking about cochineal, I remember from my school days it is a scarlet/red coloured dye that was used to colour royal robes, made from a scaly type of insect that lives on the fruit of figs, wrong! it lives on catus, there is a type of conch that also produces the same type of red dye, quite why we were talking about it I have failed to remember, but that is what makes the evenings fly past,
a short while later we were joined by Mike and Riza, so whilst the girls settled down to chatting and eating,
we watched the second part of Fred Dibnah's World of Steam, Steel and Stone, great viewing if you are into that sort of thing, luckily we all are,
then a look at a hero, Ernest Shackleton in a DVD entitled To the End of the Earth, all to soon time had slipped by so our friends left and it was time for bed.

The reason we got onto the cochineal thing was my comment about using it to dye the water I used in a "water level".... just to remind you!!
Dear Mike, short term memory shot to pieces, mine not yours, err, what was the question again? best regards, Stan and Diana.
