First Thing Off To The TUKCOM Center,

We needed to buy an extension lead for the Christmas lights,
strange thing was the way into Pattaya was clogged almost to a stand still, but the way to Sumkivit was traffic free, I went downstairs to the electrical shop that seems to sell everything, but the surprise was that they did not have a single extension lead! normally they have hundreds, so upstairs to the computer spares floor and I bought one there, but no fuses, so down to the basement again, but no 10 amp fuses, or 5 or 3 amp but but they did have some 1 amp ones, well as they were for the Christmas lights I bought them, so home to put out the lights,

we spent the day putting them along the house and over our 'Christmas' tree, in reality it is a Norfolk Island pine, (Araucaria heterophylla),

having said that it is not really a pine, it is a conifer, native to the Norfolk Islands and Australia, I bought it about 6 years ago, but then it was only about one and a half feet tall, now here's a worry, in its native habitat, this tree may reach 200 feet in height with 15 pound cones, ouch! if one of those hits you on the head!

just finished as it was getting dark,

and at night very nice it looked to, as did Diana all dressed with one of her new dresses, it was a bit early for customers in the restaurant that is in Soi Marine Plaza, but we stopped to say hi! to the staff we knew there, then to the Bier Kitchen for our meal, two steaks 488 baht for both of us, it is quite pleasant sitting there watching the world go past, a nice start to the evening,
a quick shot of the lights in Walking Street, on to Sisterz, we met Tom in there and then made our way to see Grieg in Sweethearts, great music and videos, guys doing crazy things on bikes this evening, almost watched more of that than I did looking at the ladies!
then into Champions soon Big Jim called, so we had a drink and a chat there,
by now it must have been nearly midnight, so we made our way to the food stalls for a small snack for when we got back, so a quick picture of the glass stall,
we almost went for some seafood tonight, but changed our mind, then past the fruit stalls,
to the shrine outside the Marine Plaza,
we walked along to the start of Soi Diamond Beach where we knew a bar-b-q stall was,
a chicken leg for me sans skin, a few things on sticks for Diana.
Second Road was almost deserted, looking the other way I could see why, a large number of police were stopping every motorbike that came along and parked them by the road, there were a huge number of bikes there, I guess the drivers, mainly tourist, did not have a licence or what ever, still a great story to tell your friends about when you get back home!
the very quite entrance to Soi Diamond, then for us it was home for a few more episodes of The Young Ones, Diana finds this series so funny and it is for as well, then time for bed, the blog is late again today, for a couple of days now the Internet connection stops early morning and does not come back on again till mid or late afternoon, why? I do not have a clue, I have satellite Internet, so the reasons are I guess one of the following, too many clouds, the sky is to blue, dust in the air, it's raining, it's to dry, sunspots, the moon is out/in, it's high tide/low water, I just wish I had an alternative, but despite calling the service center it is this or nothing, at the moment, nothing!
