First Thing We Went Over To See Mike And Riza,

and of course Pretty Cat,
who we had to wake up as it had a night on the tiles,
but after a bit of affection it soon went back to sleep!
Riza and Diana pose by the tree, more presents every day under it every day! Riza's waterlily pot is looking really nice,
one of the reasons water lies have such big flowers is to lure insects in, the flower rapidly closes trapping the insect inside all night, in the morning the flower opens releasing the insect which by now is totally covered with pollen, also a old fishing friend back in the UK told me he could tell the time of day whilst fishing by how opened or closed the water lily flower was, but that could be a fisherman's tale!
I also spotted this flowering bush in Mike and Riza's garden, I do not know what it is called, but looked to me very orchid like,
after we arrived back Maureen and Nick called in,
Nick had brought Ta-Taa along as well,
but it was all to hot for her,
then Phil called in for a chat and a cuppa, he was still a little tired from his 4,500 kilometer motor bike trip around Thailand with 20 or so fellow motorcyclists,
then there was a sound of thunder from outside, Grieg had called round to say Hi! his bike making all of the noise,
all to soon it was off to the Friday market,
so much choice, as I was going round I was buying one or two things for Diana's Christmas presents to put under the tree,
I had never seen these before, small covers to put onto the energy efficient bulbs that are now available,
some of the stalls were still getting ready,
new from last week, one of the plant shops had put in a small fish pond,
and had brought a few more plants too,
the inside of this orchid looked like pure velvet,
out here there are a lot of Vespa's and Lambretta's,
one small point even if the seller says you do not need a book as it is old do not buy it! all bikes scooters etc, must have a book,
then on to the food, mix and pick fried chicken,
Yamaha some times put a stand here, a few weeks ago it was Honda,
I am not sure if this is a new model or just an employees custom bike,
but certainly some one has spent a lot of time and money on it,
there was a full size one there as well,
whilst having a beer Sai Jai popped over to say hello,
the ceremony last week resulted in the shrines having these trees placed on them,
then once again we went to the food stall to see if the soup stall was there for tonight's evening meal,
and it was, so two chicken feet soup 60 baht for both of us,
whilst waiting the stall next door was making phattai,
the same stall had a second burner that made omelets,
first the egg,
meanwhile back to Diana's phattai, cooking nicely,
the boiling hot oil is distributed on both sides as it cooks with a ladle,
then lifted out and wrapped, Diana also had the phattai as well as the soup which she pronounced delicious,
then home for a couple of DVD's, first Jurassic Park, a great way to start the evening, dated now but still hugely watchable,
after that The Quick And The Dead, a awesome cast totally let down by SS, whilst ladies have a place in movies, I can not think of a single western or war type movie where a lady has been more out of place than this one, what a flop if it had not been for other super stars to help it along, another disappointment with the director/producer, the attention was around a clock, at 1 in the afternoon shadows should not be longer than the actors, pathic.
