Saturday 25 August 2018

In The Early Afternoon,

we were out,

and parked opposite The Grand Day/Night Hotel,

and made our way towards Pattaya Tai,

walking towards the side of TukCom,

the coffee stall we normally by our ice tea and coffee from,

on one corner of the road a delivery,

on the other a seller takes a break,

onto Pattaya Tai past one of Diana's favourites,

next over the road, to the market,

one of the lorries going into the construction site bringing traffic to a stand still,

 into Soi Bukaow itself,

 and the market,

today there were a number of money box sellers here,

with all manner of boxes, this one parked up,

whilst on the other side of the road,

 this seller,

with pretty much the same products,

was on the move,

 I watched this chap,

 preparing snacks,

 moving on,

 another snack seller,

small and large grapes are now back in season,

as more than a few stalls have them in stock,

looking across one section of he market, thankfully shaded from the sun,

the aquatic stall was here again,

with some nice Siamese fighting fish, (Betta splendens),

one of which was putting on a fine display,

apparently there is a glut of pineapples, they are piled everywhere,

one of the more colourful stalls,

the business side of the coffee stall,

the aquatic shop open again as usual,

who also had a few fighting fish,

the plant section trip around the market completed we bought our ice tea and coffee and made a move for home, Mark called round for a tea and a chat,

as he left we were out again,

it was time for the Thepprasit Road night market, so on to the 10 baht bus,

whilst waiting I zoomed in onto the huge screen that faces drivers as you come to the intersection, and it is huge, look at the size of it compared to the coach just a couple of yards in front of it,

I got off at the star of the market,Diana stayed on the bus as she was going to Tesco Lotus,

past the food and drinks stalls,

 looking inland slightly cloudy,

one of the mobile snack sellers doing his rounds,

I arrived where I normally take a picture looking towards Jomtien,

 looking cloudy,

the same looking inland,

 past the toy stall,

 new for this week,

 mini or portable sewing machines,

 opposite the bar this evening,

one stall selling towels the other shorts,

I am guessing more work has been done on the escalators,

another new shop for this week,

selling amongst other things dream catchers,

the fruit stall up and running,

every week there seems to be more and more tour groups here, just ten or so years ago there were none,

 the wicker shop,

with this week a black dress on display,

I had arrived at the pet section,

not many customers, but it was still early,

 the aquatic stall,

 sunset over the market,

 I made my way uphill,

 past the towel stall,

 to the bar,

where I had a look at the new building at the entrance to the covered area,

the snack seller walked past the bar,

and then Diana arrived with her shopping,

and we were back on the 10 baht bus and soon walking past the Jomtien Complex,

 to almost the corner,

and this is where we were going, the Pig and Whistle

Diana did not want a starter,

but I did! a prawn cocktail,

on to our main courses,

for Diana rice,

and vegetables with prawns,

 'Cheers!',

and for myself I could not resist liver bacon and onions delicious, with 2 half carafes of house wine the meal came to 1,065 baht, a walk home, feet up for a nightcap or three, and we were off to bed.
