This Is All About Our Perception,

of how big we are when viewed from planets in our solar system,

when I say 'we' I mean the earth, so often I look at drawings or diagrams of our solar system, but somehow they all seem not to really give a scale of how big or small 'we' really are, looking at us from other planets, take the photograph above, image credit NASA, ESA, JPL-Caltech, SSI, Cassini Imaging Team; Processing & License: Kevin M. Gill,

just over three years ago, because the Sun was temporarily blocked by the body of Saturn, the robotic Cassini spacecraft was able to look toward the inner Solar System, there, it spotted our Earth and Moon, at the top left, just outside of the rings of Saturn, just pin-pricks of light lying about 1.4 billion kilometers distant, how small we really look from here!
