Boxing Day,

our midday lunch,

  started with a prawn cocktail,

Diana with her new haircut, which very much liked by Dioshane

'Cheers!', with a medicinal red to start the meal,

in between courses a cracker, in case you do not know the history of crackers they were first made in about 1845-1850 by a London sweet maker called Tom Smith,

a hollow tube covered in foil with a small device inside that makes a loud 'crack!' when the tube is pulled apart, inside a hat,

a toy or novelty, in yesterdays and today's crackers we found a set of screwdrivers, a wine bottle stopper, a set of kitchen measuring spoons and a compact mirror, and some incredibly bad jokes, like these,

What do snowmen eat for lunch?
Iceburgers!

When is a boat just like snow?
When its adrift!

What song do you sing at a snowman's birthday party?
Freeze a jolly good fellow!

How does Good King Wenceslas like his pizzas?
One that's deep pan, crisp and even!

Who hides in the bakery at Christmas?
A mince spy!

What did Adam say on the day before Christmas?

It's Christmas, Eve!

What's green, covered in tinsel and goes 'ribbet ribbet'?
A Mistle-toad!

and my favourite,

What's the most popular Christmas wine?
'I don't like Brussels sprouts!'

for a lot more terrible Christmas cracker jokes have a look here, and sometimes, like this one a few real facts, this one above from one of ours,

then quickly before the meal gets cold,

 a bottle of bubbly,

which was not giving up easily,

 success!

 one for myself,

 and one for Diana,

who had just the smallest of sips,

 Diana's main course,

for today we had roast beef with a real treat, asparagus tips in a roll of bacon,

 'Cheers!',

 from both of us,

gravy on and time to tuck in,

for dessert Christmas pudding with cream, what a perfect Christmas and Boxing Day, Diana made such a great effort preparing and cooking everything, it was so nice, I really think there should be one every year,

in the evening we snacked on turkey, it was amazing the amount we had left over, so turkey sandwiches, salads and casseroles for the next few weeks, we rounded the day off with another from National Lampoon, this time European Vacation, great fun for all, oh dear Christmas is over, it seems to have flown past, but next weekend it will be a New Years bar-b-q! We just hope everyone had as nice a time as we did, to all a very Merry Christmas, with best wishes from Diana and myself, and with that we were off to bed.
