but keeping to an oriental flavour,
I came across these prints of snow falling and settled from landscape artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) in 20th century Japan he travelled
extensively throughout the Western regions of the country, known for his paintings of snow, rain and moonlight, he created elegant prints of Kyoto
temples covered in snow, as well as dark and quiet landscapes, I have picked these winter, snow scenes from the Ronin Gallery in New York, which is currently showing
Hasui’s prints in a collection titled “Quiet Elegance.” he has of course many other works as well as winter scenes that can be seen and purchased there, and no I am not on commission! above 'Yasugi Kiyomizu in Izumo' (1926),
'Fine Day After Snow at
Asakusa Kannon Temple' (1926),
this is the one for me, 'Saishoin Temple in
Hiroski' (1936), yours for $2,800, a woodblock print, 15 × 10 1/2 in, 38.1 × 26.7 cm,
'Snow at Mukojima' (1931),
