We Missed It!

by 5 days,

the sun, moon, and earth's centers were precisely aligned with one another, a total eclipse, but you had to be in Chile and Argentina to view it, tourists from around the world gathered to witness the cosmic spectacle, which began at 10:24 a.m. local time (1824 GMT), crossing over a tiny atoll in the South Pacific, the eclipse made its first landfall in Chile at 3:22 p.m. (1922 GMT) in La Serena, a city of some 200,000 people where the arrival of more than 300,000 visitors forced the local water company to increase output and service gas stations to store extra fuel, police and health services were also reinforced, image credit: Luc Viatour/Lucnix.beWikimedia Commons, and if you were in Argentina,

this is what was seen over Buenos Aires, Muhammed Emin Canik/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images, oh well I guess we will have to wait until the next total eclipse on December 14th, 2020, if you are into forward planning here are a few more.

Went to the link... and it looks like December 26th of this year, we'll be just a few hours from the center of an eclipse! Maybe we will drive down and watch it.

Dear Jil, sorry to have taken so long to reply, great that you can travel to the eclipse, send a couple of photographs if you want them on the blog, I ma not sure if Diana would have paid for the Filipino food, but as there are a few more family days in the park planned over the next few months we might find out! best regards, Stan and Diana.
