We Started Out Early,

for our trip to Scotland,

a quick look through the duty frees,

 then a bite to eat,

 in the Lebanese restaurant,

 breakfast over,

and we were on our way,

 down the slope,

 a quick pose,

 and there it was,

our Easyjet flight, just over 30 minutes late for boarding,

 eventually,

we were up, up and away,

 landing safely at Glasgow airport,

we called into the car hire place by the River Clyde,

and were soon on our way,

past the strange looking roundabout sculpture,

 and into the mountains,

which at the tops were mist or cloud covered,

 a bit of  nasty one,

no ambulances so hopefully no one was injured,

I took another look at the mountains,

and then there was another, this one a motorcyclist,

 hopefully all is well,

the trees by the waterside cleared, so a quick picture along the loch,

we passed a huge train viaduct which reminded me of the Glenfinnan Viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies, it is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire,

 as we continued our drive,

the low cloud kept rolling in,

our first stop, The Green Welly Stop,

 behind it,

a field of yellow flowers which would have looked so nice if the sun was shining,

  but no matter, Diana,

 Kai,

Steve,

and myself were happy,

with the food here,

a group of motorcyclists were here taking a break,

 and after ours,

 we were back on ourway,

I have to admit at this stage,

 things were looking very bleak,

 as the mist/clouds,

 obscured the views,

then we arrived at the beginning of Lock Linnhe,

 by the small church,

 not too far now,

 as we crossed the bridge,

 and headed towards Fort William,

 the gateway to Ben Nevis,

and that is where we will end up at the visitor centre,

 we pushed on,

gaining altitude all of the time,

 until,

 we were stopped,

 by a family of blacksheep,

and some white ones that seemed to be on the wrong side of the sheep fence,

we drove past the center and continued to the waterfalls,

 and nice they were too,

the air was full of spray,

 as water crashed down,

 the various gullys,

that must have tanken eons of time to make,

the trick is not to fall in,

which I nearly succeeded in doing a couple of times,

 the banks here,

were more than a little wet,

Diana was constantly telling me to be careful,

much to everyone's disappointment, I did not fall in, back past the free range sheep,

and away from Fort William, as the clouds continued to roll in,

 there was another one,

the roads here are dangerous, 3 accidents in less than 3 hours,

 we were soon going past,

the Lochleven Seafood Cafe, where Steve has booked a table for tomorrow evening,

it will be a real treat,

 and here we are,

the village looking opposite the guest house,

and it was here we stayed,

at the rear of the building,

 the River Leven,

 rushes down to the loch,

and this is where we will be eating tonight,

there is no mistaking the guest house,

 outside it is a picture,

and here we are, just about to have our evening meal,

opposite the ice climbing indoor range,

 we sat upstairs,

with a view overlooking the river,

for our food, Diana chose Chinese chicken curry,

with a side salad,

 beef pie for Steve,

 and lasagna for Kai,

 'Cheers!',

and for myself onion bhajis, followed by a beef masala curry,

 meal over,

 I took a look outside,

 on the balcony,

it was just a tad too cold to sit outside,

the plates soon to be cleared away, then home and feet up,

and time for a bottle of bubbly,

what a nice way to end the day,

I should mention that in the room there are so many bits and pieces to nibble on,

so a few snacks later as we watched television and it was then time for bed.
