We Are Back!

so straight on with the posts of our holiday,

I am only making posts of our stay in Bournemouth, until I catch up, if you see what I mean, a misty start to our journey,

luckily the traffic was light,

and we were soon parked up,

in the car park at the top of the cliffs, we could not book into the hotel until the afternoon, so a walk to the pier,

and to our little hut on the beach,

where Diana rustled up an English breakfast,

and a cup of tea,

Diana had brought some reading with her,

another cup and we were on our way,

into town,

next a local café,

for a warm coffee,

by now it was the afternoon,

so we could check into our hotel,

and nice it was too, although we have a beach hut, you are not allowed to stay in it overnight, hence the hotel,

we stayed again at the Travelodge,

the car performed perfectly,

we bimbled past The Hop Inn,

and made our way downhill into town,

although it was still afternoon,

it seemed dark as we continued walking,

Diana taking a selfie, no change there then!

we promised ourselves we would take a trip on the eye on this visit,

we continued through the park, passing this Swiss chalet style coffee shop,

through the arcade,

and into the main pedestrianised part of town,

where the Christmas decorations had already been switched on,

Diana loves window shopping,

so no prizes for guessing how many times we stopped,

for a look see,

back to the main Christmas display,

with huge illuminated Christmas trees,

that looked nice,

as did this colourful display,

guess where next?

shopping finished, and wine purchased,

we made our way back through the park,

where spotlights sent messages onto the grass,

and big they were too,

they looked rather neat as it happens,

looking up towards one of the park side bars and cafes,

walking under the road, we were soon at the pier,

and the Bournemouth Eye,

we were making our way back to the hut,

stopping at Harry Ramsdens for our supper,

for our first night back, what better than fish and chip?

cod, chips and gherkins, what a winning combination!

oh and I forgot, a glass or three of red,

we then settled down for our favourite card game, cribbage,

after a few hours we made a move for the hotel, modesty forbids me for saying who won, but Diana lost,

on the left of us the piers restaurant,

and on the right,

 Hot Rocks, another restaurant/café/bar,

arriving back at the hotel,

Diana tried on her latest purchase, stick on fingernails, I have to say it they really did look good, next for us, feet up, a spiced rum, one episode of New Tricks and we were off to bed.
