Banned! Banned! Banned!

health and safety nuts really have it in for UK schools, some of the crackpot rules are, no more 3 legged races or running in the playground, kids at school have also been banned from eating sweets, now not that shaving foam was available for art classes when I was at school, but it has been banned "because children could drown in it!" no I am not making this up! the article is here, also in the list of things you can not do in the playground are bans on footballs, snowball fights and conker games, also wet grass? games lesson cancelled, if any one near my age is reading this you will remember a BBC programme called "Blue Peter" the presenters showed you how to make things out of house hold waste, like a rocket ship made of the tubes from toilet rolls - not any more, toilet roll tubes banned as are egg cartons, a spokesman for the Department for Children, Schools and Families said: 'We urge schools to take a commonsense approach to keeping safe, 'Health and safety should not be a major burden and it shouldn't stop pupils from learning and playing, 'A small amount of risk is part and parcel of growing up and we do not subscribe to a cotton wool culture-of a sanitised childhood.' so why all the bans as reported above?
