Another Event I Missed!
the Coupe Icare (Icarus Cup), it is an annual meeting at Saint-Hilaire du Touvet in south-east France, and includes almost every type of craft that flies, floats or glides, all will be there,
with lots of activities,
and a great opportunity for photographers if you can get airborne, it took place on the 19th - 21st of this month,
but with my fear of heights I will stay on the ground! according to Greek myth, Icarus used wings constructed by his father from feathers and wax to fly from his island prison on Crete, so in a bid to relive his dream of flight, modern aviators since 1974 have launched themselves from the breathtaking Plateau des Petites Roches to glide gracefully down to Lumbin, 600 metres below, makes me shiver just to think about it!
