we went there many times for a holiday as a kid,
one thing I do remember about it was that it was not noted for it's sandy beaches, just lots of pebbles and rock pools which were fun to look in especially at a place called Black Rock which was the nearest beach to where we stayed, so I was a bit surprised when an International Sand Sculpture Festival was announced that would take place there, the festival starts on Monday and has turned the Black Rock site in Brighton into a sand village of the world's biggest music stars, I then found out about the sand, around 4,000 tonnes of sand had to be shipped in to Brighton for the 20 artists to work with because the city's own beach is pebbly, so that is where the sand came from!
the show start from April 8, 2013 and ends September 30, 2013, the cost to view the sculptures is child ticket £4.00 per ticket, Family ticket £15.00 per ticket, Adult ticket £6.00 per ticket, Concession ticket £5.00 per ticket, but check first just in case things have changed,
of course if sand sculptures are to your liking remember the Weston Sand Sculpture Festival 2013, open daily from Friday 29th of March - end of September 2013 11am - 5pm (last admission 5pm, park closes at 5:30pm) prices adults £ 3.50 concessions offers O.A.P’s & Students £ 3.00 children (13 and below): £ 2.00 (under 3’s free) family (2 adults, 2 children): £ 10, but again check first for times and prices, now where is my bucket and spade?
