Our Expensive Doorstop,

is back,

the door stop in question is a Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver/amplifier, you may wonder why we use this as a door stop, as we paid 24,000 baht for it, (at today's rate $715.00. £455.00), as Max Bygraves always said, 'I Wanna Tell You a Story', we decided to buy a hi-fi system and we were told the the Onkyo was the one to go for, so we bought it, after just 2 years and 11 months it stopped working, the store we bought it from, Homeworks although out of it's 1 year guarantee picked it up and at their expense sent it back to Onkyo in Bangkok, a few weeks later it was returned, it was unrepairable, there are no spare parts available for this model, HomeWork staff advised us that if we did not want genuine parts it might be repaired at Amon in the basement at TukCom so they delivered it there, well there were no original spare parts after all, but again no luck, it could not be repaired, Homeworks delivered the unit back to us yesterday,

keeping in mind that this model although discontinued is still on sale, if you buy it remember if it fails outside of it's 1 year guarantee there are no spare parts for it, so be prepared to throw it away if it goes wrong after 12 months, as an aside Homeworks no longer sell any Onkyo products, I wonder why?

out for Sunday lunch, today to the Punch and Judy, it is located between Pattaya 3rd Road and Thepprasit Soi 8, almost opposite the Eden Hotel,

we were joined today by Slim Jim, who decided on pea soup for a starter,

whilst Diana and myself shared a liver pate starter,

 'Cheers!',

on to our main courses, a lasagna,

for Diana,

fish and chips for Slim Jim,

and roast lamb for myself,

'Cheers!', again, we were all so full we could not eat dessert, we chatted the afternoon away, then after saying our farewells to Slim Jim, home we went,

on to the Sunday afternoon movie, 2012, the end of the world, after a small snack in the evening we finished series 3 and started series 4 of Boardwalk Empire, the episodes just keep getting better and better, as the midnight hour approached we took the doorstop inside, we were then off to bed.
