Diana Had A Day Off Today,

so up to London,

with Kai to the Sheraton Grand, in Park Lane,

for one of these, a afternoon cream tea,

Diana,

and Kai,

enjoying themselves,

and even asked one of the waiters,

to take a few photographs,

the cakes all look so nice,

'more tea madam?',

time for a pose by the tree,

and what a nice tree it was,

next a walk,

through Green Park I guess,

to Buckingham Palace,

today the pool outside filled,

time for a few a few more photographs,

just one more,

and a selfie,

and past Fortnum & Mason

that had the building lit up,

like a advent calendar,

next a walk to the Winter Wonderland,

with all the fun of the fair,

lots to do,

and prizes to be won,

and food!

and drinks,

but they were not eating here, they decided to have their evening meal,

in Chinatown,

first duck,

with pancakes,

followed by I do not know what,

but there was lots of it,

well all of that walking had built up a appetite,

as it happens I was up before Diana, and out,

into a cold day with clear skies, and onto a number 54 bus,

passing Peter Pan's Pool,

where at one end,

Canadian geese had taken over,

just a touch of cloud,

the bee garden on top of this bus shelter making a come back after the rain we have had lately,

Lewisham market up and running,

arriving at Blackheath Village,

a huge show of flowers,

at the florists next to the station,

as well as potted plants,

like these Christmas cactus

good job I did not want to buy next months tickets, I buy the rail tickets at the beginning of every month for the whole month for my visits to Duncan, because just occasionally like this, the ticket office is closed, I have a OAP discount card, but the machines do not accept it, it has to be a face to face meeting! having said that new machines are being rolled out, but so far only a few at the bigger stations in London,

on to the platform at Blackheath,

changing trains at Dartford,

a pair of swans had taken up residence on the pond next to the station,

one of the pair preening itself,

the fountain was on today,

as the pair and a single cygnet cruised the pond,

the leaves on the willow now almost all gone,

arriving in Gravesend a quick walk to the bank,

and back to the bus hub, as clouds started to roll in, onto the 483,

and off at the hill leading to the nursing home where Duncan is staying,

the silver birches at the entrance now sans leaves, inside Duncan was in the day room where a physiotherapist was conducting a class, most of the guests were there, lifting arms and legs to the background music of Christmas songs, all of the staff were wearing Christmas dresses and hats, it was all rather jolly, Duncan was in fine sprits and I dropped of his Christmas presents into his room and made my way back to the day room, when his lunch arrived I said my goodbyes and wished everyone a Merry Christmas,

outside I made my way to the bus stop and station,

where the bus was a tad late, so I missed 13.04, so the 13.34 it was then, arriving at Blackheath and onto a number 54 bus for the last part of my journey,

the bee garden on this building,

looking the worst for the dry summer,

but on this bus shelter,

the plants making a come back,

it was starting to cloud over, storm Pia is heading for the UK and weather warnings are out,

a change of wine for this evening,

after my sherry and read,

for my starter Diana had bought me a King prawn cocktail with mayonnaise infused with brandy and sherry,

which was delicious!

I followed that with a Lancashire hotpot

'Cheers!', after which it was feet up for,

photograph Dad's Army Fans @DadsArmyFans, for Dad's Army Battle of the Giants, great fun for all,

I followed that with Bird Box: Barcelona, a survival movie set in you guessed it Barcelona! not a great film it all seemed a tad silly, but there it is, the good news was that Diana arrived just as it finished, so a Endeavour it was before we were off to bed.
