Whilst Diana Was At Work,

I had a quiet day,

so one more video of the Bangkok live fish market, in this video we had a look at shops selling ornamental goldfish, a few things about them, these will not stand our winters, so they are indoor fish only, also many have strange bubbles near their eyes, naturally they are called bubble eye goldfish, they have been selectively bred this way to make them look different when viewed form above, many years ago before glass bowls and aquariums were invented, fish were kept in porcelain bowls and viewed from above, so breeders made the fish more attractive by selective breeding,

some of the shops selling ornamental goldfish,

a huge choice,

and I want that one! some of the goldfish also have growths on their heads, lionheads as they are known, the black fish with bulging eyes are called blackmoors, towards the end of the video there are some fish that look like they have swallowed a golf ball! these are pearlscales, the edge of each scale looking like pearlessence, naturally these breeds did not happen overnight, it took years for these different strains to be developed,

in the evening time for my read,

for tonight a bowl of country house soup, to which I added some sweetcorn, 'Cheers!',

then out past the tennis courts, a bit cold for tennis but one court is being used,

into the club to meet with Steve,

we sat by the tree, and chatted the night away, after saying our farewells we made a move for our homes,

arriving home Diana had just started to watch The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, a moving story of friendship in an a impossible situation, so we watched that before we were off to bed.
