then to the boatyard, the boat painting is nearly finished,
inside and out it all looks good,
even the the storage places under the seats have been painted,
what was a struggle for Mick and myself was so much easier with 3 people to pick up the engine, not that it was heavy, only 85 kilos or so, but it was so difficult to pick up as there were no easy hand holds, where ever you held it the fins or whatever just cut into your fingers,
every thing starting to come together now,
and it appears the boat with the 'sharks smile' at the front is now finished,
a happy wave from the workers and we were off,
after a cup of tea at Mick and Mass's house it was back home, not even midday and it was hotter than yesterday, 38 and climbing! so off to the pool to cool down,
we decided on the Eden Hotel, we had been there some years ago, it seemed nice and clean then and still was today,
the water was clean with a nice waterfall to complete the scene,
and a shallow pool,
Diana under the waterfall,
they had some nice plants and flowers in the garden that surrounds the pool area,
on the way back from ordering the drinks I had to cool off under the waterfall,
then lay back for a read, then a couple of problems, Diana asked for a coke, 'no coke', Pepsi, 'no Pepsi' it was orange fanta or sprite, Diana settled for the orange fanta, so feeling thirsty I ordered a sprite and a Heineken, with a glass of ice to mix the two together to make a shandy, a nice long cool drink, the empty glass arrived, ice? I enquired, 'no ice' I could not believe it! an 80 or so room hotel, restaurant, inside bar/pool room and a outside bar, no coke, Pepsi or ice so we paid our 360 baht including the pool fee and left,
in the evening as we both love Indian food we went for a slap up meal to Alibaba in central road near the beachfront,
Diana had a vanilla milkshake,
we arrived about 7 in the evening, the place was almost empty, but there was not a empty table an hour or so later, I had to remember it was Monday, so I guess at the weekends you most probably have to book a table,
red wine for me, for starters we shared a prawn puri and chicken samosa, there were four samosas in one order, before they arrived we had some fried poppadoms with onions,
"Cheers!" from both of us,
the main courses arrived, chicken tikka, butter chicken, chicken tikka massala, pulao rice with peas and nan bread, as usual we ordered too much, but we had plenty of time for a second assault on the meal, we left about 9.15 in the Secrets taxi for home and a few more glasses of wine then feet up for
The Fugitive, a good story line that I can still remember from black and white TV days followed by a Midsomer Murder, A Worm in the Bud and so to bed.
