we had a bit of a lay in,
we did not get up till 8.00 or so,
then over to the cafe next to the Big Bike Shop for a big breakfast, liver and bacon for me,
lasagna and chips for Diana
and Kai,
the meal was huge,
I went into the bike shop a few doors down with Steve and left the girls in the clothes shop next door,
Big Foot Bikes, nice shop and it seems very popular with the biking fraternity,
but of course we spent too much time looking at the bikes,
Diana had bought herself a new aviation style flying jacket to keep her warm, it appears the 'aviation' look is going to be all the rage this autumn /winter,
Diana really likes using Kai's hoover,
then we decided to have a walk around Beckenham Place Park,
it is a huge park that has an 18 hole golf course in it,
Steve said that just a few weeks ago the grass was brown, but since we arrived it has rained so much every thing is a lush green,
Beckenham Place itself,
and a map of the park,
me at the 18th hole, gray skies again,
near the club house some gardens are laid out,
lots of unusual plants amongst the usual ones,
like these,
I must admit I have never seen these seed pod/flowers before,
nice green lawn,
even with her new jacket Diana is still cold,
in to the park this huge tree was strike by lightening,
all of this walking was making me a bit hot,
we had by now walked around to the far side of the course, this is the garden and out buildings of the club house in the distance,
another map of the park from The Stumps Hill side,
also in the park is the Foxgrove Club, both Steve and myself used to be members there but we have both let our membership lapse,
it is a lovely area, pity it is spoilt by having the local council make the residents leave the dustbins outside for collection,
the road is unadopted so it is a bit muddy underfoot,
the first glimpse of my apartment in the distance,
and there it is,
we are now back at Steve's watching the squirrels coming out to play,
this evening Steve and Kai have invited two of their friends over for the evening meal, so Steve is cooking one of the main courses,
but before that, 'Ah!',
the food is served,
Tony and Selina, have called in for the evening along with little Charlie,
and there he is with Diana,
then all of that ice cream and fresh fruit,
'Cheers!', from all of us,
after Tony, Selina and Charlie left it was out on the balcony for Steve and myself then off to bed.
