Dr Chanis is just opposite the Friendship car park, so I popped in to have my tooth replaced whilst Diana did the shopping,
we watched the cable television over the afternoon, mainly for the BBC news it just then happened a couple of films came that we sort of watched whilst playing cribbage, after our evening meal we had a few chocolates, now with my tooth replaced at least I do not look like half a Dracula!
Wallace and Gromit were first on our list in A Matter Of Loaf And Death, filled with every bread, loaf, bake, cake, jokes you can think of, and a lot more besides, Wallace falls in love, but is the lady the one for him? all through the film there are references to other films as well as posters on the walls advertising films such as 'Pup Fiction' or 'The Dogfather' great fun,
I bought this one as I guessed it would be a similar story to The General, the good news was that it was, The Great Locomotive Chase was indeed based on a true story, James J. Andrews did in fact steal The General but unlike the original film this one sticks closer to the facts, 22 raiders accompanied him on the raid, he and eight of the others that were captured by the Union forces were hung, but most of the raiders were awarded a new medal, The Congressional Medal Of Honor, the first time that the award had ever been made, except Andrews as he was a civilian, for a full story of this film that became a history lesson look here,
now for a Hitchcock film that taps into the unimaginable, Marnie, a relationship is made between the owner of a company and a newly hired secretary, after a week long romance they are married, but all is not well, the bride harbours many dark secrets, some of which even she does not know or fully understand, then a couple of Tales of the Unexpected, but here is a strange one, I had seen one of the episodes already in the UK, not so unexpected then, after a couple of those off to bed.
