the sinking of the Titanic for instance, and here is another, but not a book, it is a magazine called Ripperologist, and it is the foremost of several publications dedicated to promotion and discussion of Ripperology, to put it in context, more books have been written on Jack the Ripper than on all US Presidents combined, and interest in Jack has never been higher, so what is a Ripperologist? well he or she, or the one in the middle, (I must be PC here and include them), is someone who is interested in (or obsessed with) the study of Jack the Ripper and the Whitechapel Murders of 1888,

but the magazine also includes emphasis on Victoriana of all sorts in general and the East End of London in particular, emphasis is also given to other serial killers and infamous Victorian criminals, and here is the good news, it is now free to download, first published in 1995, the magazine is now released bi-monthly in PDF format and is free to receive, simply complete the subscription form to receive future issues, but be warned once you start to read make sure you have a few cups of coffee on hand and a few snacks, it is compulsive reading! here is the link.
