Off To The Dentist Again,

this now being my fifth trip,

for the same root canal,

still the good news is that at least it does not hurt, the dentists I use is Doctor Chanis, just opposite Friendship supermarket in Pattaya Tai, the bad news is that I have got to go back again next week,

looking on the bright side I spotted this beauty as I made my way outside, what appears to be a Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet, nice,

next stop I called into Friendship on an attempt to buy a tub of vanilla ice cream, also two 7-11s and two Family Marts, but it appears there is a city wide shortage of vanilla ice cream in tubs, moving on I went to the dry cleaners to pick up our cleaning, then home feet up till it was time for our evening meal out.

 then glad rags on,

we were out to Ali Babas,

in Central Road at the Beach Road end,

if you want the story of Ali Baba have a look here but for tonight two items of news, firstly they have bought some new chairs,

secondly Harvey was here with friends celebrating his birthday,

to night we were joined by Mr. Tony, after some poppadoms we ordered chicken chat,

followed by prawn puri, the problem was that it was so delicious we forgot to take a picture till it was almost finished!

Diana looking as lovely as ever,

 then it was cake time,

 for Harvey,

lights out, pucker up and blow!

 our main course then arrived,

 20 thieves,

a mixture of chicken, lamb, prawns, fish and cheeses,

on a bed of onion and cabbage sizzling on a hot iron skillet,

after our meal Harvey popped over with some birthday cake,

 it was chocolate,

any guesses who's favourite chocolate is?

you guessed it, Diana's, Harvey could not have made a better choice of cake, another delicious meal from Ali Babas, we will be back! and once again 'Happy Birthday Harvey!'

in the afternoon we watch Men in Black the first and second in the series, for us both hugely entertaining,

then after returning home after our meal a few more from Dad's Army, so much good humoured innocent fun, after saying our farewells to Mr. Tony it was late so for us we were off to bed.

It Almost Looks Like It Is Going To Infinity,

as the statue rises into the air,

designed by Korean born Do Ho Suh, Karma is a sculpture made from 98 cast stainless steel figures,

exhibited at The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA, New Orleans, although it looks like it reaches into the sky forever it is in fact just 23 feet (7 meters) tall, the piece depicts a tower of piggy-backed men, each successively covering the eyes of the man below him, creating an illusion that the blinded tower seems to stretch to infinity like a fractal or self-similarity, like looking into a series of facing mirrors, the image you see is the same but it gets smaller as the image is repeated, any way I thought it was neat.

All Seemed Well,

as council maintenance worker David Bourner parked up to clear some leaves,

leaving the two-seater garden maintance machine beside a flower bed in Tenterden High Street in Kent, after returning to the vehicle he was stunned to find a parking fine from Ashford Borough Council on the machine owned by Tenterden Town Council, his crime? he had crossed yellow lines to park on the verge, the vehicle is taxed and insured to drive on the road like a normal car, so normal driving rules apply,

businessman Guy Day, 42, who photographed the ticket on the machine, said: 'what are the traffic wardens thinking about they're giving tickets to each other now, we'd be much better off without them,' Tenterden Town Council have appealed the decision to issue the ticket,

another witness posted: 'I drove past and could not believe what I was seeing, our local elected borough councillors should without any doubt sort this situation out before Tenterden loses all its trade due to its stupid wardens', the fine is £70 but will be reduced to £35 if it is paid within 14 days,

a spokesman said: 'we can confirm a penalty charge notice was issued to the vehicle, as it appeared, following a period of observation, that a contravention had occurred, we received a representation on this matter from Tenterden Town Council which we have considered and the notice has now been cancelled', I wonder if the traffic warden that issued the ticket has now been informed that other councils vehicles are allowed to break the law?

Yesterday The Water Treatment Unit Under The Sink Developed A Leak,

a very fine spray of water came from it when we turned it on,

so a quick call to the company that serviced it last time and an appointment was made for today,

the leak was somewhere around here, but the jet coming out was so fine although I could feel it I could not see it,

at 3.00 in the afternoon the engineer called round as arranged, a minute pin hole had somehow formed in one of the pipes, when the pump switched on the 60psi it develops was enough to cause the spray, so pipe and filter cartridge replaced and all was back to normal, price for the pipe, cartridge and call out was 300 baht,

in case you need them this is their card, alternatively they have a stall in Big C, the one that was originally CareForre on Central Road, the stall is on the ground floor as you come in from the car park, the entrance is the one the post office is in,

after that we watched The Day After Tomorrow, we had watched it before, but still a enjoyable film to watch again, especially the opening sequence as the camera flies over the ice sheet,

followed by 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, a great boys own adventure, we had watched Kirk Douglas the night before in another film on satellite, for the rest of the evening we watched some more of the new series that were being broadcast, Kings of Restoration and Pickers amongst others, then for us we were off to bed.

When I Read About These,

there was only one person I thought of,

they are gummy bears, but with a difference, FabCafe has now released details of their 2-part workshop at their Shibuya location where people will use a 3D body scanner to create gummy bears humans in their own likeness,

keeping to a gummy bears theme you can of course use them to make a chandelier,

as Kevin Champeny did, by the way if you want a chandelier like this one they are on sale at Jellio. com in two sizes, 18” diameter: $2400.00 open edition or 31” diameter: $6500.00 open edition, but back to the question, who did I think off when I read about gummy bears? Homer Simpson of course!

Not Much In The News Today That We Found Interesting, Amusing Or Just Plain Weird,

also we did not have anything planned today,

so not a lot to post about, although I did have to have a double take when I looked at our neighbours fence, it appears that all of Jakes cuddly toys had been washed and were hanging out to dry, during the day both Mark and Mr. Tony called round for a tea/coffee and a chat,

in the evening we were in for a treat as the satellite companies had all decided to put new episodes of our favourite television shows on, so we watched Alaska Gold, Bering Seas Gold, Pawn Stars, Kings of Restoration, Deadliest Catch and others till the early hours, then for us we were off to bed.

Sunday Already,

so we are out for our Sunday lunch,

today to the Punch & Judy, the pub is located between Pattaya 3rd Road and Thepprasit Soi 8, almost opposite the Eden Hotel,

it is getting more popular as the months go by, we had to wait for a table,

so we had a drink at the bar whilst we waited,

today we were joined by Mr. Tony,

who like us had the chicken liver pate for a starter,

after a break our main courses, Thai food for Diana and a plate of onion rings that we shared,

cottage pie topped with cheese for Mr. Tony,

whilst I went with lamb chops,

 'Cheers!',

we were all so full we decided against a dessert and went straight on with a latte coffee,

 delicious it was too,

and expertly made,

we then made a move back home, after a few more drinks we had our dessert, a Magnam ice cream each, in the evening we watched some of the series that we all like, Kings of Restoration, Pickers, Alaska Gold, et al, after saying our goodbyes to Mr. Tony we were then off to bed.
