so we decided on a walk to the mansion in the park,
glad rags on,
and we were off,
into a sunny warm day,
quite a few people here today,
the wildlife area looking nice in the midday sun,
a quick photograph,
as we walked up the hill towards the mansion,
the good news was that seeing this van,
for today sunflowers,
and cactus,
lots of them!
as well as a good selection of other plants,
the dahlias looking so nice, I should mention that Wise Choice for Flowers and Plants is here at Beckenham Place Park every Sunday from 10.00 in the morning until 3.00 in the afternoon, their Facebook page is here,
not as many stalls as previous visits,
but still nice to look around them,
I do not remember seeing this one before,
but I remember these,
Diana by the mansion,
as I was snapping away at some of the stalls,
we walked past the antique store in the building,
to the rear, where what were formally the holes of the golf course,
plenty of seats,
'Cheers!',
with a Fosters, Diana had a coffee,
the view to the slightly right,
and left where we were sitting,
after our drinks we made a move,
around the mansion,
and down the hill,
towards home,
passing the snail mail box,
we were soon home as Diana prepared lunch I had a read and a sherry, and this is what Diana was preparing,
a Cote de Boeuf,
a huge rib steak,
but first chicken liver pate, after a break,
our main course, sans gravy for myself, it was delicious!
'Cheers!',
the candle burnt down to the holder,
and the last one underneath it caught light,
for our dessert a slice of chocolate gateau,
with cream, lots of cream, next feet up for our Sunday afternoon,
film,
a real classic, Gone with the Wind, it appears in this list of every 88 Best Picture Oscar Winners in the Best Picture category since the inception of the Oscars, not in my order of preference, but there it is they are all winners, and at number 12, Gone With The Wind and the book found itself at number 26 on the American Library Association’s list of the 100 most-banned classics, the book was not even available in Russian, as it was not given permission to be published by the central party committee until it's translation finally and publicly appeared in 1982, made by Tatiana Alexseyevna Kudriavtseva, who waged a successful 18-year battle with the Communist Party to finally publish the book, it was of course printed in Russia in 1940, but was never made available to the public, back to the films, so how many of the 86 films have you seen? for myself a disappointingly low of only 59, after which we watched our usual Sunday murder mystery, Columbo, rounding off the evening after a beef sandwich with a Midsomer Murder, before we were off to bed.
