Diana Sent Me A Few Photographs,

of the girls visit to Berlin,

more food,

of course!

as they set out to explore the city,

I am not sure where or what this is,

but they went there, and a short video, for myself I was off, after a delicious smoked haddock breakfast to a nature reserve I had not been to before Oare marshes, near Faversham,

I knew I was at the correct site, when I saw the drinking fountain

it started looking good, straight away this chap arrived,

followed by a magpie,

I was hoping it was going to be like this through my visit,

beware of the bull!

I gave this field a very wide berth,

a flight of birds appeared,

and soon settled,

as they did,

in the background,

a spoon bill, that took off,

which soon settled again, the enlargement looks a bit strange with the birds rears at the top of the photograph!

but this was the problem, the birds here were even further away than they were at Minsmere,

so whilst there are lots of birds here,

they are so far away, that they do not make a nice enlargement,

oh well better luck next time, for today back to the bull! arriving home I went to Papilio, I wanted to reserve a few places for my belated birthday bash, next over the road for some milk in Marks & Spencer's, after my evening meal,

I played with a photograph I took of the fox in the morning, the way the image can be enlarged,

is most impressive with the medium format censor,

I am trying to convince myself the reflection is the outline of our flat with the blue sky behind it, it looks a bit grainy as I over sharpened it, after playing with that I watched a documentary about Scapa Flow, particularly about how 2 men and their crews raised a total of 32 ships, the images and quotes below from www.scapaflowwrecks.com

"Cox and Danks Ltd raising a total of 32 ships for the valuable steel in their hulls. Most of the salvage work pre-dated WWII but some operations continued until 1979. Seven ships were never raised and today these provide some of the best wreck diving the world has to offer"

a very interesting program indeed, after which of all things a programme about bird watching,

Sam & Ade go Birdwatching, image Channel 5, it was very enjoyable, and I am looking forward to the next one in the series, I rounded off mu evening with a couple more episodes of Wolf Hall, after which I was off to bed.

The Day Started With News From The Girls,

they arrived at the airport for a early breakfast,

Kai, Wilma and Diana,

all on the aircraft,

over the channel,

to a very wet Berlin, before Diana left thinking of Fawlty Towers I mentioned, 'do not mention the war' but with seeing Henning Wehn, who is a frequent German comedian guest on Have I Got News For You doing one of his countries German jokes, I need not have worried,

"my grandfather died in a concentration camp... he fell out of his watchtower. Only joking!! (He just broke his leg)".

moving on,

I was out passing the bluebells in the verge,

when on the other side of the tree I saw some pinkbells,

past the snail mail box, I suddenly realised it was not there! I will look where it was later,

past the green and on to the Chinese roundabout,

I was going to the shops here, to the delicatessen shop/café there to help Andrew remove the clubs photographs, I arrived early so I had my breakfast/lunch there, but, the owner asked if we wanted to leave them for another 3 weeks, a nice result for the club, so we arraigned to meet back here in 3 weeks time, Andrew kindly dropped me off at Marks & Spencer's, as Diana is not here I had to pick up a few meals I can heat up,

into the park,

I had a look at where the snail mail box was, but not anymore,

not that I post many letters, but now when I do a long walk into town, hopefully the Post Office will bring it back, some hope, (well there are 2 hopes there, Bob Hope and no hope), I have since found out it was run over by a car! and taken away by the Post Office, in the evening after my meal I watched a PBS from America about the failed attempt to invade the UK with the Spanish Armada, followed by another 1 hour long documentary about the UK's failed attempt to wage war in the Dardanelles, both programs so interesting, well they were for me! just before a Midsomer Murder Diana sent me these:

apparently it was raining, so the girls hopped from one café/restaurant/bier keller to another, I will not comment on each photograph as they are self explanatory,

I have to say it looks like non of them had eaten for the previous week! after the Midsomer Murder I watched this weeks Have I Got News For You, before I was off to bed.
