We Had A Bit Of A Busy Day,

first thing we were off,

as we were going to the Nokia repair/service centre, naturally we looked up the address on the Internet, even though we had been there many years before, you guessed it, they had moved!, but we bought a ice coffee in the parking area next to the Numchai outlet on the Sukhumvit Road,

where the outlet should have been, luckily there was a faded note on the now closed shutters in Thai, I guess giving directions to the new location which was of no use to us, but the good news was that there was a telephone number, calling it we were told that the new outlet was in the small road that runs alongside Big C in South Pattaya,

 so we were off, we parked in the Big C car park and walked past one of the shrines to the store,

 and there it was just a few shop houses from the Mercy Centre, for a brand new front piece including the screen and a back cover the bill was just over 2,000 baht, the screen was in stock the back cover will arrive in a few weeks, we were told the repair would take 1 hour, so we decided to head back home, no sooner had we arrived, we had not even taken our crash helmets off, when we received a telephone call, the telephone was repaired and ready to pick up, back on the bike to the shop and home again in no time,

 in the afternoon Kieth called round for a coffee and a chat, whilst he was there Jay and Rachelle called in followed by Mark so we all chatted the afternoon away, all of us catching up with each others news for the past few weeks,

after saying our goodbyes and our evening meal we settled down to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the title says it all, the film explores the secret life of the America's greatest president, Abraham Lincoln and the untold story that shaped the nation, the president discovers blood-thirsty vampires are planning to take over the United States, Lincoln makes it his mission to eliminate them, becoming history's greatest hunter of the undead, who said history was boring? keeping to an American theme a few more from Cheers and for us we were off to bed.

you do not see every day,

a submarine surfacing in a city street, as a publicity stunt, the ad agency M&C SAATCHI created the distinct impression that a submarine had accidentally surfaced through a street in Milan, the sudden and destructive appearance of L1F3 was a promotion for Europ Assistance IT, an insurance company, the lesson appears to be that you need extra insurance, just in case this happens on your street,

the agency went to great lengths to make this an almost convincing fake news story, including appearances by rescue workers, videos of the event taking place and interviews with the sailors, the captain claims that he was briefly distracted while driving, well you have to hand it to the agency, the advertisement certainly got noticed!

I Had To Chuckle,

when I saw this,

well I thought it was funny.

We Posted An Optical Illusion,

a few posts ago,

which we thought was quiet neat, here is another one, this one takes a bit of time, 30 seconds to be precise, so here goes,

1. stare at the red dot on the girls nose for 30 seconds.


2. turn towards a blank wall or your ceiling,


3. blink repeatedly and quickly.


4. I do not know how it works, but below is what I saw,

how neat is that, but how does it work?

As I Now Had My New Galaxy Note 3,

we decided to get my old telephone repaired,

 so off to TukCom we went, we called into one of the many repair shops on the telephone floor, we were told to call back in 1 hour so we had a ice coffee and tea at one of the roadside cafes just along the road,

out of interest this is the repair shop we used, when Steve and Kai were here this is the one that Kai went to, so we did the same, the problem was that the telephone kept giving a 'systems error' warning so that I could not change the time which for some reason was a few hours ahead of what it should have been, the repair was 300 baht,

 whilst at the cafe I played with the camera and found it had a feature where you can keep some of the picture sharp and soft focus the rest of it, so above is the result,

 next stop Friendship for a few bits of shopping, then home feet up till the evening,

 we decided to go out for a meal,

 Diana looking as lovely as ever,

 and this is where we went, the Punch & Judy,

 a club sandwich for Diana,

 bangers and mash for myself,

 'Cheers!', from me,

 Diana finished her meal with a coffee, outside we kept seeing flashes of lightning, so we made a hasty move for home,

 just as we arrived home the heavens opened,

 the thunder and lightning was almost none stop,

 we arrived home at 8.00 in the evening, two hours later the rain had just stopped, but outside the road was flooded, looking to the right,

and left, water, water everywhere, luckily the rain stopped before the water level reached the house, the strange thing is that for 12 or so years before our road has never flooded, then two years ago the road was ripped up and new drains put in, and yes you guessed it since the new drains have been in we have flooded every year!

in the evening we watched World War Z, it was for us totally brilliant, zombies that run as fast as normal people, great action and I have to say suspense, I am not a fan of horror movies which may seem strange as I watched this one but I did jump a few times, we found the special effects absolutely excellent, just amazing in fact, we had to calm down after this one so a few from Cheers and then for us we were off to bed.

We Have Often Seen Orange Carved Pumpkins,

and carved melons with green skin and red interiors,

but this is a first for us when Ray Villafane attended a pumpkin festival in Ludwigsburg, Germany, we have never seen a Halloween face made using a Hubbard squash, master sculptor Ray Villafane and his crew at Villafane Studios have just started traveling all over the world again to create their masterful works of art...all on pumpkins! From September 19 to 22nd, they were in Ludwigsburg, Germany to attend the biggest pumpkin festival in all of Europe, called Kürbisausstellung, while there, Ray decided to create a few Messerschmidt-inspired pieces, this time, he carved not onto traditional pumpkins, but onto Hubbard squash, 

from September 26 to 29th, Villafane then hopped on over to the Jucker Farm in Zurich, Switzerland, where he spent the last few days carving more hubbards, as he stated about the pieces above "Meet the Hubbards. Hans and Heinrich Hubbard, I really love working with these Hubbard squash, it is a refreshing break from the standard pumpkin', for more of his work follow this link to his studio, he also features artworks in sand and toys, some people are just so talented.

A Few Weeks Ago I Was Chatting On The Telephone To A Friend Of Ours,

in the conversation he mentioned that he had bought a chainsaw,

then yesterday I saw this picture, doesn't the guy know the danger he is in?


lets take it step by step,

no safety goggles,

no ear defenders,

no safety gloves,

no headgear to defend against falling branches,

the ignition switched on, the throttle set at full power,

what else could he possibly do wrong?
