and so cyclists everywhere are lobbying for their own cycle lanes,
like this one, a section of the M2 Freeway in Sydney, which according to the article is one of the busiest highways in Australia, I wonder if the idea
will catch on in Great Britain? I can just imagine a 32
ton articulated lorry passing a cyclist in the bike lane, the lorry going at 60
or so miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) which is the speed limit for goods vehicles (more than 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight) in England and
Wales, imagine the look of surprise as the air that the vehicle displaces hits the cyclists!
of course lobbying for a cycle lane and getting it does not mean it will be used, well maybe occasionally, but would you want to cycle along the M25, or any other motorway,
imagine the carnage when the cyclist wants to go straight ahead, but a car or lorry wants to take the off slip road? so a resounding victory for the cyclists lobby as other road users have to give up space for you, now please use your new deadicated lanes.
