I Am Guessing,

that when Joseph Dodds heard that he had won first prize,

his wish had come true and he was going to receive a model of King Kong, most probably like this vintage 1964 Aurora King Kong Model, he cleared a space on his mantelpiece for it, little did he realise when it arrived in packing cases that when assembled it would in fact be over 9 feet tall!

now Joseph, 63, of Hillington, Glasgow, plans to put the effigy up for auction — and experts predict it could attract a prize bid of over £2,000, as it now appears that it has taken over the house, it will go under the hammer at McTears Auctioneers in the city next month, Boss Brian Clements said: 'we knew our film memorabilia auction would be a big sale, but this gave us all a surprise, the model’s a real talking point and everyone wants a photo taken with Kong, it was used to promote Peter Jackson’s blockbuster, whoever buys it will own a piece of Hollywood history', this could be a case of being careful what you wish for!
