I Am Only Making One Post Today,

as there are quite a few photographs,

and because the old telephone I have most of my music and all of my radio shows on has finally died, so I will spend some time downloading them into my computer and then on to my newer telephone, if I can work out how to do it!, back to Wednesday, we were both going to visit Duncan, Diana is accompanying me as it is her day off, so out into a bright day,

as we made our way to the number 54 bus stop,

clear blue skies,

we were soon speeding towards Blackheath,

not a cloud in the sky, it was hot,

the bee garden on one of the bus shelters unfortunaly drying out,

a driver change at Catford bus garage,

we passed the Ninth Life, in Catford, as Diana pointed out a reference to the Catford cats nine lives,

the florists not yet open,

great news the 09.31 to Gravesend running,

where wispy cloud tried to hide the sun,

we caught the 483 and were soon walking up the hill,

to the nursing home where Duncan lives,

the roses although nearly finished still giving off a nice aroma,

Duncan remembered Diana immediately we chatted about some of the times we all had together, especially when we all went to Eastbourne Air Show way back in September 2010, as this weekend Diana and myself are going to see this years air show, also some of the many times in the past that we all went to, before Duncan's lunch arrived we said our goodbyes and made a move for Gravesend,

neither of us had visited the town before, so we walked from the bus stand into town,

into the pedestrianised High Street,

and into George's shopping mall,

the florists,

had a nice display outside,

into Savers for a small purchase,

the mall was pretty quite,

outside and into Primark,

moving on past McDonald's,

and the clock tower,

one of the many quant pubs in the area,

we entered the park,

which house all manner of ordinance,

to give a idea of scale, Diana takes the pose,

another couple of cannons, bus sadly no information about them,

looking at these I guess at some time this was a fort,

it certainly had a number of guns dotted about it,

and lots more ordinance,

and defiantly the look of fortifications, it is a pity we could not find any signage, but we did find this about it,

another gun pointing skywards,

tine for a pose,

by a couple of estuary facing big guns,

and another anti-aircraft gun,

over the bridge,

under which flowed,

a very sluggish stream,

Diana fancied a cold drink a coffee for myself,

inside the café by the river, as we waited for my food order,

a bacon sandwich, Diana was going to eat later,

looking back to the café,

we made our way to the waters edge,

looking up,

and downstream, before we started walking back into town,

a fire damaged building on the High Street,

with scaffolding making it look like repairs are underway,

we were on a mission,

to go to McDonald's,

where Diana wanted to eat, chicken and chips, a milkshake for myself,

we soon walked back to the station,

where the hanging baskets looked nice,

and there was our train on platform 0,

after a number of early shifts this week Diana was tired out, so a few ZZZZZ's on the train,

at Blackheath the florists next to the station was putting on a good show,

these cyclamen looking nice,

we were soon walking home through the park,

where as it was now late it was time for a read and a sherry,

Diana cooked herself a noodle dish, for myself a couple of chicken legs, after a Simpsons and a Aussie Gold Hunter it was feet up for ITVX, we watched 2 Midsomer Murders back to back before we were off to bed.
