I Had A Few Things To Do Today,

whilst Diana was at work,

 so off out of the park,

 on the grass verges, the first of the white cherry trees was flowering,

 and the magnolia in this garden was putting on a good show,

 the small one in the garden of the Foxgrove Lodge was also in bud,

 I caught the bus to Kingfisheries, 

 as I wanted some aquatic fertilizer,

I decided on the  API Leaf Zone,

 whilst there I had a look at some of the aquarium ornaments,

 the neoclassical look is just not me,

 next stop nearly opposite the church, a call into the cash machine, along to the convenience store to top up one of Diana's travel cards, shopping in Marks and Spencer, then call into the dry cleaners to pick up one of Diana's jackets, next home, 

 and wait for Diana to arrive home from work, as it was still early evening Diana decided on a chicken massaman, although I do not normally have a drink on a Tuesday, as we were sitting at the table, 'Cheers!',

delicious, and it made a nice change for a Tuesday evening, after a couple of quiz shows it was feet up for tonight's film,

Life of Pi, stunning sets and filming, the near opening swimming pool scene so surreal, but so stunning, as it happens Pi's childhood takes place in Pondicherry, which is a real place in India, but unlike the film, the town lacks a zoo, so far, we rounded the evening off with a couple from Mrs. Browns Boys, and then for us we were off to bed.

A New Look For The Aquarium,

salt water out,

 freshwater in,

 a new substrate, and instead of corals, plants, it took all day to complete the change, in the next few days a few fish will be arriving, Steve called in during the evening, 

in the background we watched 6 Underground, if you like car chases, lots of shooting and explosive head and body bullet wounds, this is the film for you, as for the story at the end of the film Steve and myself looked at each other and said, 'what was that all about?' there was no deserable story is the kindest thing to say about the plot, but for a action movie with lots of special effects it was very good, but, as I mentioned, nowhere near anything that resembled a plot, after Steve said farewell Diana called,

so off to the bus stop, then back home, feet up for a coffee and one from New Tricks before we were off to bed.

We Were Out Of Water,

for our marine aquarium,

 so off to the shop past the church, but first,

 a look into the town hall, as an exhibition was being held there,

 by the Beckenham Photographic Society, what a treat, so many stunning photographs, it put my humble efforts to shame!

 on to the bus stop, The Cosy Kitchen now up and running, I called into Kingfisheries Aquarium and picked up the RO water we use to top up the aquarium and home I went,

 in the evening a sherry,

 followed by my evening meal and a few glasses of red,

as I read a few more chapters of Lanark by Alasdair Gray, whilst listening to music,

towards midnight Diana called, so a walk to the bus stop, returning home it was feet up for a coffee and for us next we were off to bed.

One Of The Reasons For The Aquarium Clean Up,

was that it had developed this rather unsightly algae,

 so out with the bucket and syphon,

 algae and some of the coral sand removed,

 I had already washed some sand which I then added, the box fish having a look at the new substrate,

I made a short video of the aquarium just as I feed them, unfortunately the camera records a different light spectrum than we see, hence not the colors that we expect,

 so here is a photograph of the aquarium, all looking bright as it should,

 for my evening meal a sherry,

 before a salmon salad,

 with a glass of wine or three, just as I was about to begin, Diana arrived home,

 so noodles for her,

  'Cheers!', 

 and for dessert two treats, firstly a creme brulee, 

followed by an excellent Jamaican coffee,

 by now it was late, so time for just one film, Ex_Machina, which we both enjoyed whilst snacking on some roasted chestnuts, and with the end of the film we were off to bed.

Time To Top Up The Aquarium,

and I was low on RO water,

 also time to fill up the car as the Texaco petrol station is at Elmers End, just along the road, we are planing a trip in the next few weeks, and we do not want to pay motorway prices for fuel, so first to Kingfisheries in Croydon Road, Beckenham,

 I had a chat with Graham and Carl, also one of the customers that called into the shop, not that we have room for one, but I had a look at some of the aquariums that are on sale in the shop, the one above a Juwel Rio, the aquarium complete with LED lights, heater, and filter system, all for just £519.00, and if you want it a cabinet to put it on for £210.00,

 and for something slightly different, at the same price a bow fronted aquarium,

 a few more details, both available in a number of finishes, but be warned, do not put an aquarium next to a television, you will watch the antics of your fish more than the television!

  there are of course all manner of smaller table top aquariums on offer,

  and plenty of artificial decorations for them, next fill up the car with fuel then home,

  Diana was home from work early, so a sherry for a pre meal tiple,

 for tonight chicken and liver pate,

 'Cheers!',

 we followed that with baked salmon, asparagus and mashed potatoes,

and finally sticky toffee pudding with fresh cream, I had by now finished The Master Builder, the Sequel To The Specialist, by Charles Sale, a quick easy read, but still full of so many tips for businesses and business people to day, as it was when first published in the 1930s, from the book where he is giving a lecture, 'So in closing', I jest want to say that in life, or in any profession or business, it ain't how or where you start that counts-it's where you finish', spelling as in the book, after listening to music, we rounded the evening off with a couple from Westworld, which is getting better with each episode, and with that we we were off to bed.
