but there were two problems,
firstly it was at the back of the junk room on the floor and secondly the junk room had in fact flooded so I was not sure whether the telescope had been damaged or not,
after finally retrieving it and opening the box I found that we were lucky,
as the packaging in the box meant that the important parts were kept above water level,
the only damage was that the instruction booklet had become unreadable,
and there was just a little piece of rust on the counterweight,
so next stop down to the market to buy some prawns for our kebabs this evening,
while Diana continued shopping I took a stroll round the outside of the market,
taking a few pictures as I went,
Diana also bought some onions for this evening,
we then noticed some lychee's so we bought a half kilo to give them a try,
Diana had by now finished her shopping so we made our way back past the rotary barbecued fish stall,
then home and light up the barbecue,
at first lots of smoke,
then the fire took hold,
first on some garlic bread plus potatoes and onion bonbons,
garlic bread starter finished next it was on with the prawn kebabs,
as you might expect the prawn kebabs were delicious, 'Cheers!',
we were both looking forward to trying the telescope,
and whilst we waited for the sun to set we were treated to a beautiful red sky,
for tonight our main course was barbecued lamb chops,
with baked potatoes, onions, carrots and peas,
all of which was delicious, meal now finished we looked towards the heavens but we were in for a disappointment the red sky at night turned into complete cloud cover, so it looks like we will not be using our telescope until our next barbecue, as Robert Burns said in his poem, To a Mouse 'the best laid schemes o' mice an' men/Gang aft agley', (The best laid schemes of mice and men/Often go awry.),
we then decided as stargazing was out for the evening to watch a movie entitled Everglades 3D, Die Manatis des Crystal River, again for some reason we could not buy this in UK so we bought this one in Germany, the good news of course is it has English narration, the bad news was the 3-D was not as good as it should have been, also rather than looking at the entire river system the vast majority of program was spent studying just one animal, we then watched some of the satellite TV programmes on the Crime and Investigation channel and then for us we were off to bed.
