and off fishing,
we had already picked up Nick and Maureen along with Ta-Taa,
Diana looking cool in my fishing hat,
first one to me,
a keeper, but as this was for Diana's breakfast, she wanted me to catch one a bit bigger,
then Nick was into one,
so it was one all but unfortunately the fish that Nick caught was not one that makes for a nice eating, so back he went,
when we arrived the skies looked ominous and in fact more rain clouds were heading our way,
then a second fish to me,
so I was off to the restaurant to have it cooked and also pick up a new bucket of ice,
then quick as a flash our meal arrived,
fried fish and rice,
I was then into another fish,
another keeper for us to take home,
by now it was 3-2 to me,
this one although was not a keeper it made it 4-2,
by now the skies had started to clear so it looks like it would remain dry for the rest of the day,
then Nick was into another fish bring the score to 5-5, a draw,
which I helped him land as it was a large fish,
we now decided to make a move to Nick and Maureen's home, the score standing at five all, I took the fish to the restaurant to have them cleaned and gutted, we then we had what we call our 'forlorn hope' a last cast each whilst waiting for our bill to be delivered, but in this case there was a chance of one of us breaking the draw,
and as luck would have it it was me,
so we finished the day at 6-5 to me,
this one was not a keeper so back he went,
this is the main building at the fishing park,
if you never tried fishing before this is the ideal place to come as there is always plenty of tackle to hire and of course bait is readily available,
the park's card,
and map,
we then drove back to Nick and Maureen's home where Maureen had very kindly cooked us a roast evening meal,
but before we had our dessert of cheese, biscuits and ice cream an unwanted house guest had to be removed, this spider was huge compared to the ones we normally see in the UK, it must have been at least 4 inches across, a new home was found for it in the garden,
then to our game of Monopoly, surprisingly enough the dice rolled extremely well for me insofar as I had three hotels on the board before anybody else had completed a set, I then also had the good fortune of Nick, then Maureen and finally Diana each landing on one of my hotels one after another and with that the game was over, we said our goodbyes to Nick and Maureen and thanked them for looking after us so well,
when we arrived home we watched another episode from Silent Witness, this one titled First Casualty, at Hillsdon Army base, a training camp for soldiers fighting in Afghanistan, the body of a soldier is found in a Army vehicle, it looks like suicide, but closer examination reveals two gunshot wounds in the soldiers head, so is it murder? or did a dying reflex trigger the second bullet? with that we were off to bed.
