After All Of That Work Health And Safety Strike Again!

by making the triplane out of wood, paper, cotton and bicycle wheels as the original was more than a century ago, health and safety dogsbodies ruled that heavier modern materials must be used, result? it was to heavy to fly, the original first all-British triplane triplane was built by Salford-born Alliott Verdon-Roe in 1909,
the fragile craft made aviation history in July 1909 when it flew 100 feet at an average altitude of just 20 feet on Hackney Marshes, East London, propelled by a nine horse power engine, the replica was built by the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry and former aeronautical engineers who worked for Avro, the firm founded by Mr Verdon-Roe,
the Manchester team used a genuine 1912 JAP engine, bought from a vintage motorcycle club, and specially recreated 28-inch bicycle wheels, but all to no avail, H & S have spoken, I guess they think they have possibly saved a life, it is a pity they do not get one!
to stop human endeavor is to put all of us in cotton wool, next they will be banning trips to Everest, the Moon or Mars, 'in case some one gets hurt!'
to the team of volunteers from the Manchester Museum Of Science And Industry and former aeronautical engineers, I salute you all.
