In One Easy Lesson,

how to bring a 2 lane duel carriage way to a complete stop,

first decide that you want to study traffic flow, so have a census, the A47 Norwich Southern Bypass (above), is a busy road so Norfolk County County council stated that, 'origin and destination information is essential to help plan travel and transport improvements, and this has to be obtained from people using the road, either through on-the-spot interview, or via pre-paid survey postcards', so using the first of those instead of using cameras to count vehicles, motorists were stopped throughout a busy rush hour, the census on the bypass began on Wednesday morning at 7am, had to be 'lifted early' at 9.30am because the queues had become far worse that anticipated,

how worse is 'far worse'? answer, a 9 mile nine-mile tail back during the rush hour, well that helped ease the traffic flow! but there is good news for motorists, Norfolk County County council spokesman John Birchall told the Eastern Daily Press: 'the tailbacks were far worse than anybody would’ve liked and we are very sorry for that but the information we got, we can’t get in other way, We’ve now looked to see if there was a better way of doing it and have looked at the information we got this morning and have decided what we’ve got already is sufficient bearing in mind the likely disruption it would cause by carrying on', shame for those concerned that the census proved what was already known, the A47 at the point they held the census is a busy road in the rush hour!

local drivers were quick to vent their frustration on social media website Twitter like this one, Twitter user @danowat said: 'a road census, on a dual carriageway, in rush hour, just how dumb are some people?' well yes indeed.
